Her design is one of the only things I can appreciate out of Season 2. I'll need to give that abomination a chance one day, the character designs are still a good enough reason, just a really, really shitty executed plot but I've gone through worst.

It is unfortunately canon development due to the importance of Exiles, I can't really see it as a spin off since it was their vision. It was only last month that I found out it was crazy version of Dio that put Claus in a chair. I was secretly hoping he'd recover from that shit to pilot again since I lasted 3 episodes.

When I first watched Madoka I thought Sayaka was a stupid slutty bitch and worst girl.
After numerous rewatchings I realised that she is both the deepest character, the representation of the pre-creation gnostic void and Homura is the evil demiurge and did everything wrong.

Sequel movie complicated things, but it's pretty much Asian religious perspective at work. The real world is always biased towards shadow and evil. God is uncaring and possibly complicit, the devil is the good guy who goes against it and fights for humanity, happiness, etc.
