To be fair it's less that it's gone to shit and more that the constant breaks and decision to split pagetime between two different on going stories destroyed the pacing.
It's still a pretty disappointing arc (like holy fuck bring back Moeka and Andre already) but I feel it'll seem much better on a re-read when you can just crash through it.

That might actually be the case. Usually the series I'm reading are already over, or axed after 30+ chapters, so being with PS since the beggining got me used to particular pacing that's vividly lost now. We'll see how it goes, but I'm at the verge of holding the series untill enough material accumulates.

But it's also a story of healing, somehow, because of magical back in time to fix the wrong.

I fucking hate this trope and it appears in so many of these series. To Love-Ru is the worst offender but this is certainly up there.

The fundamental issue is that we're informed these characters are deeply in love but we don't really see that. All we see are chickenshits who can't act on their supposed feelings while ignoring somebody who is actually shown to love them. It's an excellent lesson in why "Show, don't tell" is so important. If we actually felt the fuckwit loved Girl A and had some reason for not acting on it, it'd be a touching story of love and resolve. But we don't so it ain't.
Although, that's what sells: People get off on "If I were him I'd confess/bang the alien/form a harem/etc". It's why harem series rarely have the protagonist do anything with his harem: If he did, it'd be him fucking the girls instead of the reader fantasizing about being so much better and fucking the girls.

The sci-fi waifu is far from perfect. She's a complete genki moronic airhead who have been given shitloads of dangerous powers but any mental shackles or any sense of restraint, logic, responsability or morality to keep her from acting according to what she feels on the moment. Plus her mind is completely obsessed and a fucking mess made of shitloads of different traits, some of them being complete opposite.
