The boy was hospitalised, though it is not clear whether vision in his remaining eye will be salvaged.
His father was apprehended at the scene with injuries to his ankles after having failed to lop off his feet. He was arrested, and faces charges including torture and cruelty to children.
Sad to say he did not comment on the taste or texture of the eyes in question.

I like the Grimgar formula of intense fight scene --> comfy character interactions. The soundtrack is comfy as shit too. Why can't we get more series like this where everything isn't fastpaced, in your face, and over the top?

The director and script writer could have had so many approaches to this scene. One of them being, showing them climbing the stairs from their perspective so they don't have to animate it in the first place. Save the animation where it really matters.
