Because the movie is 20 minutes of fun dicking around NYC, then they realized they couldn't make a whole movie out of just that so they gave up and just repeated the last 3 episodes of the anime.

The movie was good up until they got home, I was fine with the New York wankery despite seeing it too much in live action films and TV shows but the second half of the film was just terrible with how unrealistic and dreamlike it seemed.

u's never should have become famous and just stuck to saving the school, one of the things I liked about K-ON was how the budokan goal was always a pipe dream, they should've followed suit but I hated how fairy tale like the ending was.
