Episodic episodes ranged from shit to above average and I usually liked episodic shows. Animation was also subpar.
I did enjoy it overall though the way the story was told still bugs me.

The ending isn't even close, and even if it was everything in Trigun Maximum leading up to it is so fucking different than the anime they can hardly be compared. They don't even explain why he's called 'Knives'.
You should try actually reading it instead of just looking up the ending on a wiki.
Remake when? There's lots of scenes I'd like to see from the manga animated like Knive's reaction which are unintentionally hilarious at points, alsoWolfwood's death is pulled off better in the manga than anime but both are decent
