I'm genuinely at a loss as to what so many anons see in it. The only aspect I could even call above average is the music. The first 10 episodes or so are borderline unwatchable, yet all I hear is people raving about a clunky and telegraphed plot development in the final act.

There's a lot of nice stuff but the inclusion of the No Longer Human manga is kind of weird. It is /lit/ but it's not a good adaptation.
If I were to recommend any additions I'd say Gauche the Cellist (book adaptation), Helter Skelter and Heart of Thomas. There's also some manga that could be removed, you really don't need that many Jiro Taniguchi manga or shit like Tomie on there.

Pretentious, but not bad. The inclusion of some shows is questionable, like why have the Bartender anime but not the manga when the anime was a pretty bland adaptation? .hack is a questionable choice in general. Having an entire block on there is a bit silly as they obviously haven't seen every adaptation of World Masterpiece Theater, but I suppose they're just being cute. They obviously don't have much of a taste for animation, but that's about what you'd expect.
