I had a lot of fun watching this show.
Best character of 2015.

nice joke
more like a 0/10
>>136197370
It's a shame s2 is such a steaming pile of shit.

i fucking loved his progression... Maria was underhyped
pretentious but enjoyable

perfect death scene too
reminds me of frollo without a lusting for gypsy vag
>>136198142
it's not a second season, it's just another series in the same franchise
>>136198232
I honestly can't imagine a better character progression for anyone in recent anime as good as his, no retarded MUH BELIEFS and MUH ANGELS even when he was face to face with one, he thought for himself instead of being a mindless sheep, damn i need to get blu-ray maria
>inbf griffith
he is no where near a 10/10. kill yourself
10/10 antagonist
>>136197856
The best
>>136197944
I hated this cunt on day one.
>>136197493
Garo
>>136197856
He played the best cards he had and would have won, if it weren't for those damn meddling kids.
Katze
It pains me to tell you this, but pic related was a masterly written antagonist.
>>136197944
Reminder that Galfa a Alfa, and he did nothing wrong.
>>136198729
You can't beat what you can't see.
Cutest Villain.
>>136198793
She was fucking horrible.
She had the worst motivation in all of Symphogear, where the other two villain motives were "I want to fuck God" and "I want to be cool like Arnie"
>>136198818
Can only agree, the dolls made the show for me, liked them more than the main cast.
>>136198952
I as well.
Rest in peace Garie, Micha, and the two other sluts.
>>136198952
>liked them more than the main cast.
Not hard after things like Hibiki's 13th character reset.
>>136197370
He was pretty based.
But his design can't hold a candle to the blacksmith. Fucking shoulder furnace man. Let that sink in.
>>136200776
>smithes a sword mid-battle
Fucking amazing.
And then his apprentice went on to make the Metal Garo.
>>136201959
how can one character singlehandedly fix a series like he did.
>>136198793
Very hype moment when she sings for the first time but other than that she was pretty bad I think.
>>136197370
I fuckin love Medusa.
It is quite ironic that manga and anime both went to shitwith her death.
>>136198642
Taken out by 10/10 hero. I have no complaint.
>>136197370
REPENT, SINNERS
>>136201691
>Skeletor
>An antagonist
Is this a bait or you just dumb?
>>136202180
This, though Arachne was no slouch either, at least in the manga
>>136197370
>>136200776
Did the new Garo anime improve their monster designs? I dropped it because a MOTW show without proper monsters is just trash.
10/10 antagonist
>>136203006
Not really. They're trying though.
There was one that uses soccer balls to attack and another that had a hammer that turned you small/large.
>>136203085
No.
>>136202063
By always having a smile on his face.
>>136202063
>>136203287
Pretty much this. Whenever the antagonist loses, they have this "defeated face". This guy always smile, so even if he's actually already fucked up by protagonist, he still be the best.
>>136203085
>all of that buildup
>still gets one punched
its a gag comic and it wasnt even funny. he was completely wasted

>>136198601
he was a great antagonist but just what was his motive?
To spread chaos so the other guy with the prosthetic legs(with the blue hair) doesn't get his way, or because he wanted to make things interesting for himself for the hell of it because living above ground was too boring?
>>136198729
RULES OF NATURE!

>>136203553
>>136203271
I see him getting posted so much.
should I just watch Wakfu until his arc ends?
Is he just a tragic hero turned evil because circumstances demand it ? I like those
>>136207072
It was just a prank bro.
>>136198601
Great character, but he wasn't an antagonist.
>Why did you do it?
>Dunno lol
10/10
>>136202180
She was so good Okubo had to devise a way to kill her that would still benefit her in the end.
>>136207072
He was dead in the surface world and so he wanted a spectacle to make him alive again.
What do you like better, /a/? Villains that have complex motives that make you almost sympathize with them, or villains that are so rotten that they make you root for their demise?
Pic related, the best thing about WIXOSS was this little skank because everyone wanted her fucking dead.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyNAHxP_fbA
You know why I came here.
He was easily the most casual villain.
No grand scheme, no revenge plot, he jyst wants to live a quiet life.
Not to mention best Stand.
>>136207072
Passivity was on the surface. He came down to Lux to find that people were STILL being passive and wanted them to stand up and do something. Eventually, a revolution would occur and destroy the Class.
was there a single bad antagonist in samflam?
were there any antagonists to begin with? not counting the umbrella thief

why did he kill the prostitute, it felt as though he genuinely cared for her, was it because she wasn't alive enough, to end her future suffering early on, sociopathy, or he would fine her a hindrance in his movement later on
>>136208596
Probably both a mercy kill and because she didn't have the ability to do anything about her situation.
>>136197618
Truly the best.
>>136208566
he's entertaining and iconic in the Jojo universe but part 3 Dio is just some shitty villain hiding in some fancy mansion and send one person after the Joestar group
Part 1 Dio is miles better as an antagonist because he does so much more
>>136208566
Dio should give Johnny back his pants.
Hitler
>>136208658
I guess you didn't read Stone Ocean.
Nobody even comes close.
>>136208752
not yet but if it makes Dio that much better as a character then I don't blame you for choosing part 3 Dio
>>136208658
I keep seeing this argument and i can't stand it (get it) because it makes no sense.
Part 1 Dio was young, brash, just started doing his thing and had a very personal relationship with the protagonist so obviously he was gonna have more screentime.
Part 3 DIO, on the other hand, is a mature, experienced and seasoned Dio, who is also a completely different kind of villain for Jotaro.
In part 1, Dio was Jonathan's rival.
In part 3, DIO was the ancient evil that killed Jotaro's ancestors, he was fighting a very much uphill battle and wasn't in any way on equal footing with Dio (in regards to relations) like Jonathan was. In this case, it was a completely different journey, a journey to face his destiny and finish Jonathan's legacy. Part 3 DIO is a perfect final villain for the Dio/Joestar saga.
>>136207129
His arc is the first season so if you decide to, just watch that. The second season's antagonist isn't nearly as compelling, but if you're still interested in the world I'd recommend it. Sage for offtopic and /co/.
Most fabulous villain in the series
>>136208310
All of them I've had difficulty hating.
King Torture was best written though.
>>136209109
>most fabulous character ever conceived
FTFY
>>136202691
He was good before he became an angel-armadillo hybrid during the mock eclipse.
>>136208949
Doesn't make him interesting
I understand your argument but for that same reason I prefer part 1 Dio since he still goes through more development.
Especially at the very end when he realizes the strong complex rivalry and affection he has towards Jonathan
Part 3 Dio also for that same reason is just less interesting, less room for growth. I'd compare part 3 Dio with fucking Kars >>136209109 when it comes to showing personality.
Kira, as far as I read, comes out as the best Jojo antagonist the same reason I liked Dio part 1, a lot of exposure and have dynamic personalities that show
>>136209109
>>136209143
>Sex: Useless
>And he has the beauty of a greek sculpture
He's pretty damn likeable at least.
But I can't decide whether he's 10/10, because half the time he's being badass and half the time he's getting BTFO.
>>136209231
by dynamic personalities I meant that Kira and part 1 Dio are more expressive making them more likable
>>136207440
I like both.
But overall, I prefer villains that most people think are actually heroes and saviours, lik epic related.
>>136207446
To laugh at me?
>>136197370
Su Won
He's an amazing antagonist because he was justified in every action he took and is making the world a better place. There's really no reason at all why Yona opposes him. If she really cared about her country she would leave it in his far more capable hands.

>Ignore Griffithposters
>Hide Griffithposters
>Report Griffith posters
>>136209231
Hmm, i understand your reasons.
Well, as anon pointed out>>136208752
in part 6 we get a good look at DIO when he's not killing Joestars and co. It becomes apparent that the entertaining insanity, bloodlust and arrogance he displays in part 3's finale was his ''combat mode'' personality, while in actuallity he was part 1 DIO with a shitton more experience and knowledge, all of his daddy issues and complexes resolved, and a very deep, philosophical personality. Shit, i'd go as far to say that he was very wise.
>>136209318
>>136209455
I heard that Berserk is a series that has been going on for 50 years and will likely never be completed. Why the fuck does anyone care about it at this point?
>>136209455
Hold your horses, nigger, I'm not a Griffith fanboy, but he does make for a great antagonist.Seeing him get beaten up like that is so fucking satisfying
Kira from Death note :D
A real antagonist tricks you into thinking he isn't the antagonist.
>>136209655
Kira was the protagonist. L was the antagonist.
>>136209549
Please no one respond to this bait.
>>136209655
Ironic shitposting is still shitposting
>>136209655
I know you're baiting because he was the protagonist, but if you really applied yourself you would say Mello
I say Mello as a bait response because he was actually pretty good, arguably as interesting as L and a better foil to L as his methods were even more radical and unorthodox than L's but people would still shit on him because he isn't L.
Near is far too easy and obvious for bait since he is regarded as the worst by everyone
>>136209549
Because it's good and we just got off the boat after seven long years.

I'm really happy there is someone who understood Dio character.
I like how him was trying so hard to be a good guy, but threw everything out of the window after lose his waifairy
Keep on trying guys, I'm already ahead of all of you
>>136209827
>7 years for one fucking chapter
I don't care how good the series is.
That author shouldn't be supported. He brings dishonor to his famiry.
>>136209936
I said seven for getting off the boat, not seven years of hiatus retard. We get at least 5 chapters per year.
>>136209897
The only thing 10/10 about Fairy Tail is the tits and ass. Everything else is dogshit-tier.
>>136209923
not even an antagonist, he's a man of the people
>>136209888
Well of course,he is my husbando after all
It's like the character was tailor made for me. Everything, his looks, his voice, the fact that he's a vampire (but one of the VERY few vampires who is absolutely not defined by the fact that he's a vampire, he's Dio first and foremost and even if he lost his vampirism he'd still be just as awesome), his powers, his fashion sense, the fact that despite his vast power and intellect he is still a very flawed individual and those flaws come to bite him in the ass, his ambition and willpower, and maybe most importantly, the fact that he literally rose from nothing (a poor orphan) and obtained godlike power, all of that forms the perfect character for my tastes.
The worst thing is, i want him to win, but i don't want it to be at the expense of Joestars (all of whom i also greatly admire), so i'm fucked no matter what happens. Also, no matter how much i love DIO, i never forgave him for Jonathan. Never.

Great taste, I find annoying how most people dismiss him as a generic villain.Did you read Over Heaven? Even if it isn't canon I really liked it, I think it portrays Dio very well.
>>136209378
I need to read the manga.
Wasn't Yona's father really shit at being a king?
>>136207511
Came here to post this.
>>136210396
He was a horrible ruler who brought poverty and weakness to his kingdom. If Su Won didn't do what he did then their country would without a doubt have been invaded and destroyed.
Moreover Su Won goes from place to place solving all of the nations problems and making everyone happy. He's only the antagonist because he murdered Yona's father to take power.
Is there a picture like this for heroes? If not what should be the tiers?
How come no one posted him yet?
>>136209378

>>136210358
Yea, a great villain isn't defined by edgy shit like
>muh sobstory
>muh complexity
>muh higher causes
A great villain is defined by
>his ability to entertain, intrigue or otherwise get the readers full attention
>threat level to the protagonists
>impact on the story
>validity of his goals and how those goals go with the character we were presented
And DIO fucking nailed all of those. It's the same reason why Frieza shits on most, if not all HST villains despite being a ''generic overlord/tyrant''.Sorry to say i didn't like Over Heaven, particularly the stuff about DIO respecting his father more then he did his mother. In the manga, the only time we ever see Dio cry out of sadness is when his father makes him sell his mothers' dress. His mother was the only person he ever loved (and maybe still does), and one of the reasons he killed his father for is that.
>>136210550
>Griffith
>Reluctant villains who only do evil things because of the situation they find themselves in
>Mfw there are people who actually believe this
>>136210520
I don't think he was a bad king. But considering the most recent arcwhere Yona and company protect the small town from loser's rage, the author is clearly setting up a 'defense' for the Yona's father.
I haven't seen the raws, but I suspect soon enough we will have a flashback that shows us the reasons behind his extreme pacifism. Not sure it will be enough to justify his actions.
>>136210527

>>136210550
>causes are the only thing that determine how good is the villain
You are the cancer that's killing fiction. Frieza is a better villain then everyone in your post combined except maybe Griffith.
>>136210567
He is right in what he says tho. He only is an antagonist from our point of view, not generally. Homura fills the roll of the antagonist.
>>136210823
That depends on what level of fate decided the whole event anyway. If the idea of evil really chose Griffith to be a godhand it's out of his hands, but the raping of Casca was pretty unneeded.
>>136211070
That's not the point senpai. He sacrificed an entire horde of people who looked up to him, respected him as their leader and genuinly admired him just so he could get more powerful. He's thoroughly rotten to the core.
>>136210728I think that part tries to say Dio forced himself to like his father to be shielded from the cruelty of the world (kek), he thought his mother was weak because he was too kind for her own good and he wasn't in the wrong. But he still loved her deeply, after all he chose the lullaby his mother used to sing him as the key to obtain heaven.
>>136210917
Seconded.
>>136211327>he chose the lullaby his mother used to sing him as the key to obtain heaven
I think that's probably my favorite thing in a long time. Also very nice interpretation anon, i just might give it another go because of you.
>>136211142
Not this shit again. Griffith always made pretty clear that his first and foremost priority was his dream, the band knew this very well and was ready to die for him. That being said Griffith was even nice to them because he's not the monster you make him out to be. He no choise but tosacrifice them. Anyone would have done the same in his place.
>>136197370
How much CG is in the show. I immediately dropped the first episode of s1 because of CG but ive been tricked into watching shows with CG and if its mild Ive tolerated it.

>the band knew this very well and was ready to die for him
There is a difference between dying on the field of battle when you work towards a goal, and being sacrificed to a hoard of demons with no chance to survive, safe by sheer luck or based skull knight interference.
>That being said Griffith was even nice to them because he's not the monster you make him out to be.
Yes, anon, he is. He is quite literally a monster, in every sense of the word. He is in fact a king of monsters.
>He no choise but tosacrifice them.
He could have not lost his shit when Guts left the hawks and could have not fucked princess Charlotte and get tortured to near-death for it.
>Anyone would have done the same in his place

>There is a difference between dying on the field of battle when you work towards a goal, and being sacrificed to a hoard of demons with no chance to survive, safe by sheer luck or based skull knight interference.
They were mercenaries, they killed on daily basis for a living, there is no goal. The only reason they had yet to die was Griffith ability as a commander.
>The Griffith Internet Defense Force is truly beyond sanity
It's a matter of understanding the character, I don't excuse Griffith's actions but it's really easy to see why he acted that way. And we both know you would have done the same in his position.

>>136212195
>If anything the fact the he fucked up shows he has emotions.
No shit he does? Should have learned to control them instead of being a whiney, impulsive bitch then.
>After shit happened he had no choise.
Does that make his actions any less evil and despicable? He literally shat on all his comrades and condemned them to hell for utterly selfish reasons.
>They were mercenaries, they killed on daily basis for a living, there is no goal. The only reason they had yet to die was Griffith ability as a commander
Anon, all of those people were warriors at heart, and they flocked to Griffith because he was a great leader. As a merc, a great leader who is building, or has built, himself a great reputation means cash and relative security. They all arguably had their own goals; some of them did it for fame, some 'just' to earn a living, others because they wanted to be with Griffith while he was fulfilling his dream. None of those reasons compute with "they were ready to die for him anyway, might as well sacrifice them to demons and send their souls to hell". There was a selfish reason behind everyone that joined the hawks, that is just human nature, and you made it sound like they were willing to become his stepping stones, only to be discarded later, absolutely selflessly. That is simply wrong.
>It's a matter of understanding the character, I don't excuse Griffith's actions but it's really easy to see why he acted that way. And we both know you would have done the same in his position.
I understand his position and maybe I would have done the same, but that doesn't render him any less of an despicable asshole.
>>136209217
No. He was pure evil even then. Being good and Evil is determined by deeds. He might have THOUGHT he was doing good for all those people he horribly tortured and executed, but that doesn't make his actions any less evil and wrong.
>>136212685
>>136212596
I did not mean good in the moral sense of the word, I mean it as in a well-done antagonist. And this is just a matter of personal preference, but I didn't like his post-angel form. The angel form just seemed more in tune with his character, being a staunch and fanatic believer.

I would say that title belongs to the Joker.
Hao from Shaman King was basically everything a villain needed to be in that series. He always remained calm and collected, much like Yoh, and he was not just a villain, but practically a force of nature. He constantly maintained full control of everything. Also he survived space lazers, not many people can say that for themselves.

There's a difference between being a Griffith apollogist and recognising how great of a villain he is. He is literally the antichrist of the story. Everybody sees him as a savior, and not without a good reason, too, but only so few know about the evil deeds he's done.
>>136211513
It was clear that his priority was his dream, but he never intended to let them just die. He had risked his life for Guts a couple of times, although he could have realised his dream without him. He even sold himself to the noble after the young boy with the knight toy died in battle, so that he could lower the number of casualities. If during the eclipse his body wasn't broken beyon any chance of recovering, he wouldn't have done it. He wasn't a monster, no matter how determined he seemed.

>>136227834
That's a good line, but even without that there's a lot of little nuances. Remember that witches in general and Rika in particular is supposed to be the greatest actor. It's all really speculation, but what convinced me was Bern's character song lyrics. Bernkastel is a very mysterious, probably often misunderstood character.
>>136227924
Did you read the last secret teaparty? I don't know what you're talking about.
>>136228195
There are definitely a lot more little nuances to suggest her true character than just that line, but that line is probably the most direct one to suggest shes not just pure evil.
So GOAT he got an IRL funeral.
Probably Kumagawa for me, but since he was already mentioned, I'd have to say most antagonists in Vagabond except for Kojirou. The Yoshioka's story was just heartwrenching. Isshun and Tsujikaze were pretty based too.
>>136197370
Which GARO is better, the last anime series or the new one?
>>136228195
I read it all friend, I don't know why you dismiss the entire series of dialogue because she declared wearily how she didn't like playing the role she was dealt. She did the things she did because she wanted to win, but Erika already deduced that her attempts to play these games to escape her boredom was all the result of her being a coward running away from her past (episode 5 when she was talking to Lambda when Battler was speared).
His time with us was short, but he'll be in our hearts forever.
>>136197370
I really enjoyed the first Garo than the current airing one. I hate how they went out of their way to insert " muh samurai culture " in a show about knights.
>>136228642
Makai Senki.
>>136228700
I'm not dismissing her actions, I'm saying there is enough for more to believe that she has deeper motives. Bern wanted to win no matter what you're right, but what did she want to win? Who did she have to defeat? The base reasoning is defeating the golden witch to fight boredom, right? I'm saying there are reasons beyond that.Reasons like reviving an old friend by starring in a play amusing enough to involve her, and helping Ange confront reality.Pure speculation on my part.
I know what you're talking about in regards to episode 5, when Bern regales her past. But I don't remember Erika ever disrespecting or doubting her. She remained loyal and in love until the very last scene of the end.
>>136228642

Nevermind it was in episode 6 right before the wedding. Basically it was when she came to her conclusion that Lambda and Bern were both less impressive than her because neither had faced off with hard undeniable truth, whereas she had. I need to reread this series at some point to refresh my memory.
Its just so fun to watch a villain who is legit crazy who loses his shit and makes faces everytime he appears
>>136230909

The actual live action show takes place in Japan. There has to be a reason how the armor was passed down to there. Besides, that's the least of its crimes.
The bigger crime is that it's a shitty anime with budget issues and bland characters compared to the last anime
