I believe his cheat was to just be really talented at creating stuff, or something like that. He was responsible for a lot of the magical weapons the party encounter in their adventures. The Destroyer was just his creation that he technically didn't even create.
As for the items Aqua give, it's usually not the items themselves but the people using them. Aegis for example is a suit of armor that can't be damaged, and automatically heals his owners wounds in battle. But that guy died naturally from an illness. Because in a medieval fantasy world that's actually pretty damn likely.
Plus the demon king's bosses are pretty over powered in of themselves. The only reason why Kazuma's party can handle them most of the time is, funnily enough, because of Aqua. An idiot she may be, but she really is the most OP "item" Kazuma could have brought to fight the demon king.
They tend to wreck pretty much everyone else apparently. Though normal adventurers like Wiz (back when she wasn't a Lich) went hunting for them too.

She can break through several high level barriers at once. Any liquid she touches is automatically purified and her aura has a passive purifying effect. Just hugging Wiz for example gradually purifies her.
And when giving enough effort she can turn any water she touches into Holy Water. She can also be very charismatic when she isn't being an idiot.

Ah no, he's not powerful at all, ever. He just has really basic skills and the cleverness to use them to great effect. Like how he has the skill snipe, which accurate based on how high your des and luck stats are. Since he has high luck his snipe skill is pretty good, but still weak.
So he uses Aqua to buff him. He also has stuff like drain touch, and basic elemental magic. Which he uses somewhat unconventionally.

Aqua tells Kazuma in volume 8 that people don't give each other gifts in this world for their birthdays. The idea being that nobody expects you to live another year anyways to enjoy a gift, so there's no point since life expectancy is so low.
