I'm really liking series 4. Rebecca's character didn't need as much screentime as it got (in that her buildup didn't really connect much with the eventual payoff) but the show's scripts are surprisingly good at capturing the classic Lupin feel. Most modern stuff fails to do right by the cast or the genre.

It is charming goofy with a touch of edge. People die and get hurt violently in the new show a lot, the main cast just usually aren't the ones doing it. I actually like that for the most part, Lupin's gang doesn't kill anybody who doesn't have it coming.

Fujiko series is not canon and is much different from ther other series. Still a great watch, although Zenigata was too different. didnt like that.

This, I actually think that Cagliostro is one of the better additions to the series. Not prime Lupin material, but really high up there.When the Seventh Bridge Falls is probably my second or third favourite episode of anime ever, on the level of Gunbuster ep. 6 and Eva ep. 18

Watch the first series (green jacket) first.
If you've watched Cowboy Bebop, you'll see where they got that vibe from.
Only 13 eps and good animation for a Tv series from 1972
2nd series (red jacket) can be sampled at will, just don't watch the MIyazaki -directed eps first or the rest will seem shitty by comparison.
Haven't watched much of the 3rd, (pink jacket), it's by far the most "cartoony" series.
