Why is Nozoki Ana held in such high regard and considered a masterpiece by so many people?
Emiru and her Keikeku doori shit is the only interesting thing about it.
The story starts to drag and become really repetitive after the half-way point, the MC is generic as fuck and every girl loves him for no literally reason as he has no redeemable qualities, Emiru's backstory was kind of generic and predictable, the entire story past the half way point basically becomes generic beat for beat J-Drama, the ending is identical to Ocean waves and a million other dramas.
Is it just because Emiru and her scenes (especially the locker and closet) are hot as fuck?

It's slightly newer than other similar manga like Sundome and Onani Master, so of course people will flock to it because it took their "kinky sex story with a SERIOUS side" virginity. That, and the disastrous ending will be talked about for a very long time.
The story would have actually been much more interesting if it were from Emiru's POV.
It had the beach locker scene which I doubt any hentai will top in my lifetime.

The ending needs a rewrite, I think it should have ended with Emiru leaving and never coming back (adding to her mystery) with the graduation and MC realizing not that he loved her sexually, but respected her as an awesome friend and the best bro he will probably ever have.

The thing I loved about that part was that it was one of the few times when we saw Emiru being totally, brutally honest. And then Madoka beat the shit out of her for it like most normal people would after seeing her for what she is.
But somehow Kido thought she was doing it to "protect" him, which completely ruined the whole scene. Same with the camcorder scene. The backpedaling is just retarded.

With half of Emiru's facial expressions being Poseidal references, I was expecting her to follow up on that character and be a manipulative bitch who was just playing games and pretending to be some other personality with Kido the whole time. The camcorder moment was beautiful and made me believe it even more, but it went nowhere. I'm almost certain the author was being held at gunpoint by the editors after the first half.

One of my favourite scenes is the camcorder scene because at that point you think "oh they are finally getting together" and it turns out that Emiru is just a fucking psycho who can only get off over peeping thus needs him to still fuck other girls.
I thought that was a great twist and this is why I say the manga should have continued with Emiru's descent into depravity and becoming completely unhinged.

I would've been fine with that if it were done properly, like in Onani Master. The problem is that unlike Kurosawa, Emiru's character remains static and never changes, and she comes across as just generic by the time her backstory is revealed. All her "genuine" moments felt so strange that that she seemed almost bipolar. The girl Kido was fucking for ten chapters straight was not Emiru. She never properly changed nor redeemed herself to become such a character.

I am a real life version of Emiru. She's my self insert and only waifu. I love her. Nozoki Ana is my favorite manga, not because it's the best, but because I love it so much.
