I've been holding this off for long enough. I have nothing I'm interested in right now, so all I can hope for is that this will finally make me like anime again.
Is it worth it to watch The Laughing Man and Individual Eleven? As I understood it, it's just storyarcs from SAC cut into movies.

If you just want the story/want to save time, go for them.
If you want the actual Ghost in the Shell experience, watch the two seasons of anime. Most of Section 9 gets a lot of good characterization and the stories are very interesting and entertaining. You'd be doing yourself a favor by watching the TV series instead of the movies, but it's up to you. You might not end up liking it as much as I did, after all.
Solid State Society is original though, if you didn't know that already, so watch that regardless.
If you're so much of an entry-level normalfag GitS is your go-to good anime, just give up on it altogether and save yourself the hassle.
And in a good season like this one, too.
