Anime tries to jam all of the routes from the VN into 12(?) episodes. It feels rushed as fuck. Some of the routes were ok if you can ignore the extreme levels of edgy from the MC.
The VN is really good. I've done all the routes except Makina's, which I'm sure I'll get around to eventually. The stories aren't edgy - not by a long shot, really. I enjoyed them, though Amane's flashback bit is really grim.

The VN is only good for the common route, which is fantastic.
