The first episode drew you into the story and made you feel for Kotoura. Then they dropped all that and turned it into slice of life comedy. If you want to make a slice of life comedy, then make one, but by starting it with a huge tearjerking drama episode you turn away the comedy lovers only to piss off the drama fans when you promptly switch genres part-way into your series.
