No. The answer is really that simple. Now xXSonTjXx is saying Saitama got lucky that he landed on the moon and if he was knocked into space he would of been done for. The average human can survive in the vacuum of space for 90 seconds so long as you exhale all of the air out of your lungs. The fact that Saitama held his breath is impressive all on it's own. Next we look at how fast he came back through the atmosphere. There is so much that shows exactly how strong Saitama really is in pointing that out alone, but one thing I do want to touch upon how fast he did it. It takes about 3 days in a shuttle to get to the moon. Saitama was smacked to the moon, looked around and jumped back onto the ship he was punched off of all in about 5-7 seconds. That's 51840% faster compared to a one way trip to the moon in a rocket ship. If he were to land on Mars it would have taken him 5 minutes for a round trip as compared to 6 months one way in a shuttle. As long as Saitama landed on something that was relatively close to our galaxy, he could of jumped back with ease. So the answer is the only way Boros would of won is if Saitama drifted in space forever without landing on anything, which is a slim chance. If that were to happen, Boros would be considered the lucky one.

Protip: The workout had nothing to do with it, what made Saitama as strong as he is was his strong desire to be a hero who could defeat any monster in a single punch.
In the One Punch Man universe humans can evolve and change physiologically if they have a strong enough obsession with something. Examples from monsters are those like Crabrante (who was obsessed with eating crab, which made him evolve/transform into a crab), from heroes (Saitama excluded ) we have people like Super-Alloy Darkshine, who became incredibly tough, strong and black as a result of his obsession with protecting himself/not being afraid anymore.
Long story short, Saitama was obsessed with being 'a hero who could defeat any monster in a single punch' and worked relentlessly towards that goal. As a result he 'evolved' into his current state.
Garou was actually kind of evolving as well from his obsession with becoming a monster during his fight with the Monster Association and the S-Class Heroes. However since he was not really obsessed with becoming a monster but rather just wanted to be a hero who could save everything then compromised his evolution was half-assed much like his obsession. Since he didn't have the conviction he didn't complete the transformation and ended up going back to normal.
