I also remember Hoshino trying a lot of different shades for Lenalee and Kanda's hair, I think that she just retconned the design, rather than making it change at one point of the plot.
That's how scars work anon. It goes from Red (freshly scabbed) to purple (healed for a while) to skin tone but you can still see it.

I honestly hope this new anime adaptation of D.Gray-Man sells really well so we can get more animated material in the future.
I'm a bit worried that since its been a long time since the original anime, less people will likely support this new adaption. I usually don't say this but I really hope fujoshi support this series.

actually I liked many filler episodes in DGraymam. personal favorite was when allen and lenalee are on a boat and Allen tells of his past and talks about the first Akuma he killed. (which was his friend.)
who knows though. little worried about the voice actor changes. so far Allen and link change isn't bad. heck imo Allen change is a plus. but if they change Lavi's VA I'll be sad.
