WIXOSS doesn't care about the card game. Originally, Infected theme was about regret, despair and suffering from failed choices made. In the second season, the main focus of the theme went to a different approach and part of Infected's magic was lost. I only would tell you if you plan to watch WIXOSS, enjoy as much as you can Infected and don't bother with Spread.

It's not only that. WIXOSS's people in charge of color palette did a great job in matching both the essence of the background with the coloring of each character. Plus, the actual directing really did a good combo for the thrill and psychological moments of the series. This just makes me feel sad, because all this potential was just wasted in my opinion. WIXOSS could have ben a groundbreaking anime as it's own.
