Unwrap any good Kurisumasu presents this year, anons?I've developed a taste for Dr P so I guess that's something.
Managed to find the 2013 Wonderfest Lab Coat Kurisu for my birthday.

Dr. Pepper is my go to soda now as welland wearing labcoats unnecessarily
>>135253911
A lab coat is always necessary. They're the perfect article.
Flame resistant, extremely well insulated, comfortable, scientific, tons of pockets, and easily identifiable so they'll never get lost.
S;G threads should only be started with perfection, not >>135252203

>>135252203
Her eyes look dead, has she been drugged?
>>135254506
They never make it that far in Beta since she's a little dead for it, and we never see enough of Alpha past thekissuto see how things would go there. Then of course in SG either she never has to do it or she does as the result of Okabe vanishing from time in a way that really doesn't make any sense before they can get beyond what I'm pretty sure is the 3rd or 4th confession type scene between them.
>>135254567
She's highon love.

Down in Texas that's all the soda they have to drink.
>>135256025
Well here in Australia you can't even get it if it's not imported. A supermarket near me has been bringing in UK stock of it lately for some reason, though.
>>135256113
Something about Australias mailing system really fucks a lot of their imports up for a lot of companies. Might have to do with being on a island in the middle of no where.
>>135252203
>I've developed a taste for Dr P
lewd
>>135256025
Is the glass-bottled Dr. Pepper made with cane sugar? I used to drink Dublin Dr. Pepper since it tasted better and HFCS makes me sick, but since they shut down I haven't really been drinking much soda at all.
>>135256204
They made Dr.P in a can with sugar cane it comes in a white tin can. Glass bottles I think too.
>>135256204
>>135256272
The UK stock we get here is made with sugar rather than the awful HFCS that's used in the US formulas of things. Same with locally made soft drinks.
>>135256298
>The UK stock we get here is made with sugar rather than the awful HFCS that's used in the US formulas of things.
Reason for 23 flavors is HFCS m8 your cheating yourself out of the genuine article if your not drinking it.
>>135256366
>Implying
It's used because the US government makes it make financial sense to prop up farmers. As a result most US drinks taste like ass.
>>135252203
WHY IS HER HEAD SO FUCKING BIG
>>135256405
Read grapes of wrath your knowledge on foreign policy is awful. There is a reason why they sustain farmers.
>>135256463
>grapes of wrath
Foreign policy has nothing to do with that or with the use of corn syrup in sodas. You're confusing interventionism with protectionism. The farming subsidies actually harm the market by encouraging a controlled output and discouraging natural growth and stabilization at maximum sustainable levels. The events depicted in The Grapes of Wrath were the result of an economic downturn that began in the banks and almost a century of shit agricultural practices on the Great Plains, and subsidies do nothing to prevent either of those things. Such heavy interventionism can be justified in certain situations but it's really hard to do so when the result is a decline in the quality of the goods produced, especially when prices are already naturally low enough that they don't really need to be protected. Hell, if nothing else they're also part of what is making America so fat.
>>135256463
This post is a number of kinds of wrong.
>>135252203
Unfortunately I didn't find Kurisu under the tree. Maybe next year.
>>135256895
>The events depicted in The Grapes of Wrath were the result of an economic downturn that began in the banks and almost a century of shit agricultural practices on the Great Plains, and subsidies do nothing to prevent either of those things.
Aside from raising prices on food to the point where people starve? Subsidies were a good thing. There wasn't anything to be done with the great dust bowl at the time the technology wasn't there. And those events happened generations ago. To attribute America's obesity to such a thing is grasping at straws. At best you could say that sugar prices rising from the decline in sugar plantations lead to an alternative. Which leads to Americas obesity.
>>135257010
Would youunwrapher?
>>135257169
>Aside from raising prices on food to the point where people starve? Subsidies were a good thing.
Exactly. They were a good thing, and would have done more good as temporary emergency measures. While the region isn't going through a drought and massive crop failure it is quite productive and low prices can be offset by large yields. The mechanization of farming in the modern day makes such subsidies even more obsolete and obstructive to a healthy agricultural market.
With the obesity thing I was referring specifically to the corn syrup though. Rereading what I wrote it does sound like an overstatement.
>>135257312
I was hoping for more off topic arguments but I can't refute that. Albeit refuting the original point was hard. Back on topic. Is John Titor really Okabe?

Why do artists always make flat or modestly endowed characters so stacked?
>>135258425
It's a shame that so many artists don't stay on model for that kind of thing.
>>135258550
It's one thing when it's an intentional deviation like that, but so much is just artists being lazy and changing it when there's no need just so they can draw the generic anime girl body type they always practice.

>>135261968
Dammit, now you've reminded me of the part of the movie where Kurisu buys into the whole 'curvy doesn't mean fat as fuck' thing. Why is she so based?
>>135261815
>Have they ever even made it that far?
That depends on which afterstory you preferor considered canon.
>>135262042
How many are there at this point? Only one I've bothered with is the movie, which certainly sets them up for it but doesn't go anywhere with it.
>>135262061
There's Holy Day of Scourge, the cancelled Antimatter, and Hen'i Kuukan no Octet, though I wouldn't consider the last two as an afterstory.
>>135262205
Sorry to ask for spoonfeeding, but any chance of a quick rundown of the first and last ones? Already familiar with the general direction Antimatter was meant to be taking.

>I-Its not like I used a time machine constructed by an agonized future me to travel into the past and give you a unique memory by stealing your first kiss from Mayuri and rescue you from reality's anus against your instructions to forget about you and keep living my life in a world where my memory was the only evidence of your existence because I wanted to or anything, b-baka!

She'd have to get tired of the godlike abilities of Okabe, which is doubtless impossible.

You're underestimating her tsundere act.
She'll keep doing so until the end.

I don't think he'd bring it up, honestly. He doesn't seem cold enough to use that in an argument. It's have to be a really violent fucking argument for him to pull that
>>135273093
You're probably right. I'm just saying that he has the option and it's a pretty good one. He's given an order of magnitude more for her than most would even have the opportunity to give in the first place.
>>135273093
He's earned it though.
>>135273093
To be fair, Kurisu could just reply that she never asked him to do all that, and after their meeting in Alpha, it was literally against her wishes. Which is an equally valid retort.
A more technical question:
>Has anyone ever dumped the portraits from the game? Which file are they in?

People used to say that? They simultaneously make her outfit more elegant and lewd as well as adding a slight fragility to her slender frame
>>135288703
There was one guy, I'll never forget him, who said they made her sweaty and smelly. He posted this a few threads straight before he had enough of getting BTFO.
They really do complete her design, though. I love everything about her design -- even the silly belts on her jacket.
>>135288703
>slender frameReminds me how many time I've seen those words in the first game?
>>135288997
Oh, right.
Steiner, Blick, what was with that? Did you really have no better adjectives?
>>135288997
Well it's an accurate description
>>135288703
Her whole design is fantastic. Modest yet sexy and aesthetically pleasing.
>>135289259
God, I love flustered Kurisu.
Also, can I take a moment to commend all of you for the quality of these threads? Comfy, typically devoid of shitposting, occasionally insightful, and just all around pleasant.
You guys are great.
Hope you all had a lovely Kurisumas.
>>135289325
There's shitposting sometimes, but overall I like to think SciAdv enthusiasts are scientifically inclined at least which contributes to more productive, enjoyable threads.
I hope yours was better than mine.
>>135289255
It actually looks like something that she's put together herself rather than a design by a character designer.

>>135290919

The lewdness of it is also just 'here's an extremely attractive young woman wearing nice and aesthetically clothes' rather than shoving t&a in your face.
>>135290921
>>135291751
Much of the setting and character interactions were actually fairly realistic, or at least closer to real life than is usually expected of the medium.

I just finished reading the VN, The ending wasn't very satisfying.Souless Okabe going back to 1975 to rewrite the future was kind of neatbut it feels like theres a lot of plot threads just left hanging. Like,Why does the lab have a direct line to CERN?
Does the anime clarify anything? Or is it something the sequel is going to address?
>>135294981The lab is connected through Tennouji, you goof. That and they knew about him so they probably fed that line in the futurepast.
>>135294981
You got the first and probably worst ending. You have to manually send the d-mails, anon. That's why they give you the phone and super obvious prompts to.
>>135294981
You are aware of the concept of "Multiple Endings" are you not?
>>135295117
>>135295154
Oh I didn't realize there were multiple endings. There weren't any obvious choice prompts, so I just assumed it was linear. Found the guide on google, thanks!
>>135295241
>There weren't any obvious choice prompts
You are in control of Okabe's phone. Given the subject matter that is a very powerful tool indeed. Also, you've probably been locked out of the true ending if you only just noticed this.
>>135294981CERN has a precedent for having fiber optic cables connected to various university labs across the world for near instantaneous data collection/analysis.
There are multiple endings. Try to get a better one this time.
>>135295286
Speaking of, I hated that I was unable to see what each choice actually was going to say, and couldn't go back. Anyone know if Zero fixes that bit of multiple choice annoyance?
>>135295462
Yes, Zero fixes this. You get to see your IM message before committing. I think the idea with S;G was that it was more about the topic you steered it towards than what you actually had to say about it, but it was annoying.
any idea where can i watch Zero gameplay ?
>>135295499
oh thank god.
>>135294981
You dun fucked up.
Speaking of Zero can someone explain to me the theory of recursive endings?
>>135291817
It doesn't hurt that they characters call it if shit starts getting too anime-y, like with the ongoing argument about Kurisu being a blatant tsundere.
>>135298367
Weirdly enough, she's honestly got one of the better reasons for being one than in other series.Considering her dad is a childish cretin with an inferiority complex, and tries to murder her, it's understandable she tries to keep people away and prevent them from hurting her.
>>135298464
I agree completely, she's an impressively complex character in the VN. The anime kept the general direction of her but a lot of the fine detail that really sold her was lost.
>>135298464
I did like that element of vulnerability she had, it wasn't so much the 'oh look at the poor girl cowering' type but more the sense that she was trying her best to give the opposite impression even when it was to her detriment.
I want to impregnate Kurisu,
>>135300301
And? You ended that on a comma so I assume you have more to say.
>>135300451
That was a mistake, the only thing that ended was my semen inside Kurisu.
>>135300451
He might get coma if he(?) does.
>>135300999
Unless you happen to be Okabe I don't see her being particularly happy about that.
>>135301376
I don't care about her happiness.
>>135301652
Why would you not want a happy Kurisu? I don't see the point otherwise.
>>135300999
Sorry but mine's been there first.
> tfw you finally see Episode 23 β
Is it worth getting a PS Vita to play the visual novel and others?
>>135304185
Can you read moon?
>>135304185
The VN is really comfy on the Vita. There's nothing wrong with going for the other versions though.
>>135303884
I don't remember Kurisu being that bottom-heavy.
>>135304207
I've got some moon knowledge, maybe if I had a dictionary and furigana, I could have a stab at working out stuff. Other than that, sadly not to any working level.
>>135289259
As much as I love her design this always bothered me. She must hot and sweaty as hell with the stockings and jacket.
>>135305758
Remember, with the jacket she's only wearing about a third of it at any given time.
>>135305758
I want to see Kurisu and Maho swapping their outfit someday.
>>135305758
Her jacket is practically falling off of her. All she really has on her torso is a thin dress shirt. You can also get pantyhose suitable for Summer, but it's admittedly unlikely that she went out of her way for that.
>>135306378
I want to see Kurisu and Maho swappingsaliva and semen
But seriously, they're both great designs and while I can't accurately judge Maho yet she seems to be a high tier choice. I hope that people don't have to fight about the experiment-loving girls in the future.
>>135306666
she a great tier but definitely not a high tier
>>135306870
Might I ask what keeps her down in your opinion? Genuinely curious.
>>135306666
We both know that as soon as the anime airs every thread will be filled with best girl wars.
>>135307186
i just dont really like her messy personality
also i dont really fancy pseudo-lolis
>>135307335
What makes a pseudo-loli fancy and why is it irritating?
>>135307440
I'm not saying pseudo lolis are fancy
to begin with i dont even like lolis, you know its just peoples personal tastes
>>135279431
Funny
In the VN, Okabe talks about the meanings of 'Hououin Kyouma' (roots and that). I think he mentions a phoenix or mitical bird as part of 'Hououin'
>>135280138
I have a Banpresto Kurisu figure
Why does Kurisu come across as so delicate despite (or maybe because of, come to think of it) her personality? I get much stronger protective urges over her than I did Mayuri.Chapter 11 sold it, what with the reveal of her father and all.
>>135307542
It's a "cool" name made up of fancy kanji
鳳凰 (houou), the phoenix .
院 (in) the temple.
>>135307596
i think you got it backwards, the real "kurisu" is very delicate, her personality is a result of her father
>>135307626
What was the part that he couldn't be fucked explaining? I remember that happening.
>>135307738
I'm phrasing this poorly. She both impresses me with her strength of character and make me want to wrap my arms around her and protect her even if she might not really need it. She has a tangible fragility and vulnerability to her without ever detracting from who she is in the slightest.
>>135308186
Indeed, and thats why she is a high tier waifu material
>>135308323
It doesn't hurt that the VN does an outstanding job of making you Okabe rather than making Okabe you. You inhabit him and see the story through his eyes, including the exceptionally natural romance.
>>135308823
Steins Gate itself is one of the most natural vn/anime in many aspects
>have a dream about Kurisu
>can't remember exactly what happened
>wake up with morning wood
>feel guilty
So is there a "close enough" ending where you reach absurd double digit levels of divergence and just have to settle for the least inhospitable hellscape?
>>135309495
The Faris end dumps you in a completely new and unknown attractor field.
>>135255961
>played without a guide
>picked what seemed natural to me
>got true ending on the first try
Must be the choice of Steins;Gate.
>>135309734
Wasn't one of the true ending flags to NOT answer the mail?
Sure you did that first try, without a guide.
>>135309734
please tell me thats not true
>>135309542
Shit is still probably fucked in age, though. After all, Okabe does find the divergence meter.
>>135308186
Strong characters can have weak sides, it's not uncommon.

Ads don't need to be about a specific product. Many are just to build brand awareness and show off their work. It's the same reason that major defense contractors advertise on TV. Northrup Grumman won't sell me a stealth bombers but that doesn't stop them from advertising the company on TV.
That said I would kill for the chance to buy a Cognitive Computing Upa
What is the relationship between okabe and the short girl in zero? Does he dump kurisu for her?

>>135337289
Something that you should never purchase. The S;G manga.
>>135337937
Thats actually true to a degree, although she proves to be smarter than Kurisu in some areas by making a phone microwave that is able to travel 10 times further (or some magnitudes)
>>135338454
If I recall, the main concern with the initial time jump machine (which she built in about three days) was that the person's brain may be too different if the time was more than about 48 hours. I know it's not canon (or at least not for this discussion) but in the movie Kurisu is able to build one without that limit on it with a little more work.
>canned dr. pepper tastes like shit

>>135343357

>>135348322
He definitely does at some point. What I'm wondering is how long until Kurisu puts out
>>135348322
I bet it's the opposite that happens.
I heard Zero is quite complex and heavily factors in the alternate endings. Do you think an anime adaption will be able to capture the story well enough?
>>135348876
I doubt it.
They'll probably take the safest way for the adaptation.
>>135348673
How the hell would she react to that? According to the IBM shorts the sight of Okabe dressed nicely is enough to send her panties rocketing through the floor so fast that they'd kill whoever is in the hotel room below hers.
>>135348664
Anon, Kurisu isn't the type to 'put out'. She would have no interest in something so vulgar.

>>135349621

>>135349525
I'm not saying she isn't but Okabe is a bit of an old romantic and Kurisu is a touch touchy about these subjects. I think it would be more in the 'awkward but tender and passionate lovemaking' category and less the 'putting out' one when they tear up their V-cards together. Feel free to correct me, though. That's just my reading of them.
