I'm not quite sure if this is the right board to post this on, but I have begun to learn japanese (well have been learning for about 3 months now) and I have used Hacking Japanese Supercourse/Anki Flash/Japanese Podcast 101. But anyway as I'm learning how the kanji look and their meaning, I realized I have not learned the pronunciation of them, nor was told to. Is that expressly important or can I for-go that and just keep with learning their meanings and such?

You don't need to learn kanji readings. You do need to learn word readings though. Some words are written the same in kanji and are differentiated only by the pronunciation.

Kanji vs vocab is a meme debate here because we don't have data on how much learning kanji in isolation helps with retaining vocab. However, the following are facts:
1) It's definitely possible to memorize and/or learn vocab without studying their kanji beforehand
2) There is a chance that memorizing kanji in isolation can be more efficient if and only if it makes you spend less time memorizing or learning vocab
3) All native japanese are taught 2136 kanji through public school, and learn several hundred more through natural exposure (including before they graduate).

RTKfag, however, I was only halfway through it when I decided to start Core. I got 800-900 cards into Core at 100 new cards/day when I decided all the kanji I hadn't seen yet were screwing me up and decided to cut new cards/day to 0 while I finished RTK, and in a few weeks once I'm done get back on the Core wagon. I'd guess 雨が降らなかったといいです but apparently that's not grammatical, and doesn't seem to be much なかったといい from google. And 雨が降らなかったらいいです as the -たら conditional form doesn't seem to convey tense, and if I go 雨が降らなかったら良かった that expresses regret at something that did happen.

Well Kobo has gone and completely jewed out their DRM system and I don't know how to break it. The new desktop program breaks the tools which apparently worked with the older version, but even after using an older version via wayback machine, it locks up and forces an update to the latest version before allowing anything to progress past the load up screen.
Anyone know how to get past this? In the scans of ヤマノススメ, for example, 第2巻 is missing from the 1~9 odd volumes floating out there. I'd like to fill this volume shaped gap if possible.

Yeah, I just registered a new account for the 450円 coupon and downloaded it with "Rakuten Kobo Desktop".
The file is in C:\Users\****\AppData\Local\Kobo\Kobo Desktop Edition\kepub
, but the program just displayed it in the Kobo-tab for me.
If I just drag that file into the program, it says that the file type isn't supported though.

Okay fuck me it worked. Had to set the favourites path to the previously pictured directory then for some reason it showed up in the Kobo slot on the right hand side. That's really counter intuitive and not at all what is instructed but it worked.
Thanks a bunch anon. Epubs are nice because they can be relabelled as zip folders and unzipped for the images. What do you think of the quality in pic related? Not half bad for a digital copy.
