Actually the fact that many people liked IBO shows how much they wanted somewhat coherent plot in Gundam after the G-reco disaster. So they were glad to watch even mediocre anime if it has a consistent plot line now.

That's great to hear, If you wanna start from the beginning I recommend 0079 the series (although if the series animation is too off-putting you can go with the movie compilation). then from there it's production order up until Char's counterattack.
but if you're weary of old animation try 00 and/or SEED(The Stargazer OVA is the best material from this continuity) to break yourself in a bit, If you feel comfy with those it's your choice from then onI'd save Turn A for last though

Very vapid and stilted dialog with absolutely zero subtlety.
A show that's all talk and doesn't have the characters actually express their actions in any meaningful way.
A heroine that has a very grating representation of self doubt and questioning their worth, having them go through a repetitive process of moping, talking over someone who has it worse than them, then immediately finding the resolve to get over it just before the next big fight only to go back to being sad :( the next episode. Especially when if they're going to have her be insecure they could play up more on what it meant by her being 'property' but they're probably saving that for late in the 2nd half to just mow it down with a one liner and a gunshot.
Setting up what may be the worst Jerid of the franchise.
A very underdeveloped cast. I don't know why people expect me to give a shit about Masahiro or Takaki.
But hey, Mika shoots people and the OST is great, bravo Sunrise.

The funny thing is, is that in the 0080 NovelsBernie Lives I forgot the details but it was some really cushy stuff to make up for the series
The only defense people have for IBO being shit is that they think it's better than G-Reco when all IBO does is cause people to look at G-Reco with fonder eyes. That's it, the paramilitary stuff is squashed in 3 episodes, you don't actually see what it's like growing up on Mars or being a Human Debris so none of the cast members are relateable but you sure are told a lot of how hard they had it, the MC does nothing really and the staff seem like they don't know what to do with their heroine.
It's just a really average mecha show where you can basically turn on as noise to fill the room until there's a fight scene because 9/10 times you learn nothing they didn't already tell you in the build up the the fight.

The complaints about Kudelia not joining in the fighting are stupid for obvious reasons. The people saying Mika hasn't done anything but eat since episode 3 apparently haven't been watching.
A lot of people are obviously upset about something other than what I'm seeing on the screen.

This is speculation though. It could actually be very bad, but I'm enjoying it enough to not drop it.
