Odds are for Fusion Dimension, it will be Manjoume and someone else (e.g. Shou, Kaiser, Edo or Johan being the most likely second person each for different reasons).

If Barrett arrived with 2-3 Obelisk Force, it might either be Shun and Gongenzaka tag-teaming them. Either that or Gongenzaka duels Barrett as the main duel, while Shun off-screen WAN TAN TSUREE KIRUs some Obelisk Force with Rise/Revolution falcon.
It would be kinda bullshit for Barrett to not get fodderised by Shun considering Shun's victories over Sora and Dennis (both are portrayed as being stronger than Barrett). Then again, Barrett only dueled once, lost that one duel, and it was to Reiji, the strongest duelist in ARC-V we have seen duel.
Odds are Barrett put up a better fight against Reiji in their duel than those six Security guys did to Reiji in episode 86.

What if Manjoume and Edo are the returning characters? Think about it, Edo can shill Destiny HEROs (or whatever HEROs Edo ends up using in ARC-V_ and Manjoume is certainly important enough to return and get new stuff from him.
Edo is the closest the writers can get to bringing back Judai without actually bringing back Judai. Also if we assume that those related to each other from past series are still related in ARC-V, bringing back Kaiser would mean bringing back Shou, and bringing back Shou would mean Kaiser has to return too. Meaning I doubt either Shou or Kaiser will come back. Kaito and IV returning for Xyz Dimension could be hand-waved as "Haruto, III and V got carded by Academia" and as for Shark, he would feel too similar to Shun because Rio.
Leaving Manjoume (because GX main rival), Edo (because BUY HEROS), and Johan (because BUY CRYSTAL BEASTS) as the realistic choices from a card shilling perspective.

Asuka uses fusions ever since her first duel, her Ace Monsters is fusion, Cyber Skater, and it was actually released unlike her riruals

Judai/Haou can't return because Yuri already replaced him in ARC-V. The Yuya counterparts and the Ruris replaced their respective series' MC and main girl.
It is this reason that Yusei and Aki aren't in ARC-V because Yugo and Rin are filling their roles. Yuri and Serena stand in for Judai and Asuka (with Serena's deck theme of dancers even resembling Asuka's deck to an extent). Yuto and Ruri are the ones replacing Yuma and Kotori.
So basically anyone who isn't a past protagonist or a main female, and was important in their series is free game. It seems like the return characters will be the main rival (for Synchro it was Jack. Meaning for Fusion this would be Manjoume and for Xyz it would be Kaito) and one other character (for Synchro it was Crow. I assume for Fusion this would be Sho/Kaiser/Edo/Johan and for Xyz this would be Shark/III/IV).
The closest we will get to Haou in ARC-V is if Yuri duels while in his Berserk Mode and/or uses Super Polymerization, since Yuri basically is Haou at this point in terms of his role in Academia.

Arc V is far better than Zexal. The plot is fairly slow-moving at first, but it starts to kick in around episode 7. Yuya is far less annoying than Yuma is, and he can actually duel.
