I didnt like this movie.
It was misleading and some part where super forced like. The thing was supposed to be about rescuing Minmay right? But all of a sudden she gets her man stolen by someone else.
On top of that the bitch that stole her man was a fucking dick to him.
I didnt saw the series but judging by this as a lone piece of cinema, the story was pretty crap. The animation was top tought.

Also, the movie is a retelling of some parts of the series, and makes little to no sense if you don't know the setting beforehand.

Like I said, judging it as a stand alone piece of cinema "I never saw robotech nor any of that stuff" the movie is fucking misleading. Even look at the cover and themes and then all of a sudden, oh I failed to rescue her so now I am gonna fall in love with the bitch of my superior just because.... ????

To be fair, the love triangle thing was the most boring thing in the series and only took away time from the other parts of the show that were much much better

The movie is a condensed retelling of the series and is a masterpiece for its time.
