One point. The visuals matter in Anno's works. There's visual exposition, attention payed to shot composition and he knows how to select animators for the scenes that require more intense key frame delivery.
Tomino's anime feels like it could be live-action and I'd get the same experience, hell it could be a book and it wouldn't change much.
