Not finished yet (halfway through) but here's my consensus.
$13 on amazon, which isn't hard to swallow at all. Especially being a new release and all.
Never read the fan translations, but from what I've heard they're of comparable quality. The only thing I would say the fan translations have over the official localization would be the wordplay. I'm guessing in fan translations they stick to using translator's notes to give some small background, whereas in the original the wordplay just seems like banter. It's not a huge deal, even for something like Isin's work, very little content was lost in the translation.
All in all it's a good buy and a very accessible way to get into the LNs for a newtimer like me (I'm an anime-only pleb.)

The daki is from another package the other day but, circumstances lead to my little brothers opening it and it was a bit awkward, but while I'm sad it wasn't saved for Christmas, I think this is a great gift and am very pleased with it.
