It's really odd that we're only getting one volume every two months. I mean, that's still faster than most manga releases, but it seems a bit slow for such a popular series. Ghoul's first volume sold quite well and I'm pretty sure it's been consistently one of the best-selling manga whenever a new volume is released, but at this rate :re will be up to where TG ended by the time the entire series is out in English. Maybe if starts doing as well as Eoten it'll get one volume a month until it catches up with the JP.

There was some post a bit earlier about how large a population of ghouls a city like Tokyo could sustain.
Using average world rates of death a population of 14 million would see about 140,000 deaths a year. Which could sustain somewhere around ~12,000 ghouls alone.
Given this is a fantasy series, we could probably imagine the death toll to be higher, but with a higher rate of birth than Japan has.
Tokyo would be perfectly sustainable with enough Ghouls to populate a small city.

Tokyo Ghoul the manga is a legitimately good series. It may not be to your tastes, which is all subjective, but it is a good seinen series.
It's not comparable to Berserk because they both have an overlap with themes and the fact that they're seinen but handle it differently, neither do it badly.

The words overused but it's an easy way to get a general idea across for some series or at least parts of them. Tokyo Ghoul handles the dark stuff that happens in the story pretty well but some parts do stand out to me as going a bit too far, to the point that it becomes a little hard to take seriously. The thing that makes it amazing for me isnt only the tarot arcana, literature references and all the stuff Ishida puts in, but the amazing foreshadow he uses. I mean, every single thing that happens is in the series and we were supposed to be able to know it could happen or it would happen, and yet we are still surprised almost every single week, only for you to one day reread and find out it was on the manga all along.
Its fucking amazing how well thought is TG, and it really shows that Ishida isnt making up shit as he goes, he has everything though out already.

The best series are the ones that reward you for looking deeper into them. Stuff like Bleach is clearly made up as he goes along. Tokyo Ghoul is clearly planned out pretty far ahead though and it makes the series feel much more focused. Honestly I'd be surprised to hear that Ishida doesn't have some sort of end game in mind planned out in detail at this point.

I guess it's technically possible, just really unlikely. It's a kind of popular theory but a dumb one. Togashi's art is pretty bad honestly it's his world-building and storytelling style that makes Hunter X Hunter good. It's a shame he refuses to just give the story to somebody else and have them draw it.
