Nah, I wouldn't say the show is automatically bad due to just that, but I just consider it kind of a poor choice. You want to see your viewers off with a bang, especially if you want them to return for the next season. Still being in a comedy ep at this point seems like kind of a bad choice unless the series is pure comedy

The show really needs to work on its mixing of comedy or light hearted elements and drama. You wouldn't have Envy make a bean joke in the middle of FMA'03 ep50 when the final showdown between him and Ed is going on. By ep50, the show is in serious "mode" even though 20 eps ago it was doing bean jokes.
