It was thanks to Yata that they became friends at all though. Fushimi was really cold to him at first.
As for what happened when they joined Homra, I think Yata truly didn't understand that Fushimi wasn't happy there. Homra was like a big new family to Yata and he wanted Fushimi to be part of it too, since the guy's own family sucked so much. He just didn't realize that it wasn't what Fushimi wanted. But yeah, someone should have given him a clue.

Honestly, I always thought Mikoto and Totsuka's death affected him too, especially Totsuka. While Fushimi was afraid of Mikoto, ultimately he was the one who let Fushimi choose who he wanted to follow and let him go. Totsuka was probably the only other one besides Izumo who made Fushimi feel a little comfortable in HOMRA. Of course, admittedly he probably didn't feel as bad as Misaki when they died.
Now if Munakata died, that would be pretty fucked up, if they hadn't talked after their fight in ep 8 his last words to him would've been that entire speech about him being a traitor. That's gonna break some things in Fushimi. Though if he died, I wonder if Fushimi will still wanna hang-out with his s4 bros though, Hidaka was really nice to him

I feel like if best king does die, S4 will just continue on as usual without him even if it would feel a bit aimless. Fushimi would stick around for his MILF loving pal A and maybe finally start getting to know his comrades. Still, I'd rather if Munakata lived as that seems the healthier option for everyone. They need someone to uphold the order after the chaos (although if there's no more magic after this, what's the point of so many relationships; it would feel a bit empty).

You can screech and screech about "brain dead", "shipping" and "lapping up anything that is served" all you want, but it was obvious from the beginning what we got or something similar enough to it was going to happen.
