One of my favorite memories I made while still living in Japan was having a conversation with a middle aged female coworker about Pretty Cure, where we both lamented over how the newer seasons shied from the fights of the older ones. It was a very surreal experience.
I'm certain if I were to ask a 6th grade girl about their opinion on PC, they'd scoff at it and say it's for little kids (even though they likely watched it a few years earlier). But when it comes to adults and the actual target audience of Pretty Cure, I can rarely hear a bad word about it (in general, that is).
