In those toys, Wormmon evolves into GranKuwagamon. But it cannot Jogress with XV-mon to evolve into Imperialdramon.
So if the Digivice toys are the end-all be-all of how Digimon evolutionary lines are "supposed" to work, then that means that the show is wrong, and that XV-mon and Stingmon DON'T Jogress into Paildramon which evolves into Imperialdramon at all. Because clearly, the Digivices are what dictates what is and isn't true in the show, meaning the show is, apparently, lying to us.

There is no reason to think that GranKuwagumon will definitively appear, or that it will be the the enemy of HerakleKabuterimon.
But how can you guys justify that it definitely won't happen.
In 02 XVmon and Stingmon jogress to Paildramon, and can then evolve to Imperialdramon. But with how common it is these days to just associate the jogresses as the natural perfect of the 02 partners (Paildramon to Vmon, Silphymon to Aquilamon and Shakkoumon to Armadimon), isn't it at the very least possible they'll just give some excuse to allow them to reach perfect on their own? Like shit man, if Imperialdramon is returning as an enemy, why limit it to him? If we assume jogress is the only way to get 02 ultimates, then he's the only one that can appear. He'll come from XVmon and Stingmon, but then Aquilamon and Ankylomon are guaranteed useless. But if they just bullshit a way to get to perfect on their own, then we now have Imperialdramon plus 3 more ultimates as potential bad guys?
Like the other anon said, we KNOW one evolution for certainty, but that doesn't exclude any other line from at the very least being possible. Greymon got MetalGreymon and SkullGreymon, MegaloGrowmon got Dukemon and Megidramon. Things can change.

In Adventure you had Sora worrying over Taichi, being the first to go search for him, wanting him to save her from Nanomon, falling into darkness to try and help him etc. In Our War Game her entire screentime was over a fight with him. I give up on Digimon World. I started playing it after finishing Re:Digitize, and recently recruited Greymon for the city. I appreciate that it's more difficult and I enjoy the core gameplay, but it's just not fun.
Training your Digimon is fine, but having to grind (or spend hours with that shitty fishing minigame) just so you can afford to buy random cards, and then hope you can scrape together enough rare ones to get a key item (the better rod) from TonsamaGekomon is bad game design. There's also too many things based on plain randomness, like being able to encounter Piccolomon.
Add to that being unable to save more than once per day and the ugly graphics, and it's just time I could be spending much better.

Some of 02's backstory is explained in the tag tamers game, but not all of it.
V-Mon was Ryo's substitute partner to keep ryo from using agumon again like in the previous game before Daisuke finally showed up before him, not that he remembers that.
Technically the digimentals existed before the crests, and it's the crests that were based on the digimentals, but they were in pieces and had to be rebuilt in order to fix the digital world after millenniummon split it in half. They don't explain where they came from or what they are in the first place though, but I think 02 itself said they were a way of digimon evolving before they could actually evolve?
That whole world being split in half also explains why there were suddenly a bunch of TV's working as portals in the digital world, since they were set up in there so ryo and ken could communicate between each other.
If you want to speculate, you could also assume that was the reason why the destiny stones were necessary for the stability of the DW, but there wasn't anything implied in the game itself.

Most of the last season of Xros Wars, called The Boy Hunters Who Lept Through Time is all filler until the last episode so be warned.
Cyber Sleuth is coming out for North America, you should definitively buy it so they keep bringing more Digimon stuff over here. If you liked Dusk/Dawn this is shittons better.
