Well, I just mentioned it but I suppose Gifting counts. Main harem is three girls max, and the main girl isn't even interested and is more like the MC's eternal bro/hate buddy. Other two girls do eventually develop romantic interest but they don't lust after him, and it takes five volumes for that development to happen.
Not really focused on haremshit at all, and more on the antics of a woefully impractical party composition getting into horrible situations. I'd suggest giving at least the first novel a try and see if it suits your taste.

The thing I like most about Gifting is that Kazuma isn't depicted as a more right than thou sort of character, but rather someone who makes mistakes, tries to cover up mistakes, and tries to rectify his mistakes. He has a lot of flaws as a person, but he's probably one of the few LN characters that I would classify as heroic with what he does. Not only that, but he's just as interesting as all the girls and characters around him. Most of the time, mcs tend to just be shit and boring.

It's nice to see him have an actual personality to begin with. He isn't just "obligatory male MC" but a character named Kazuma, who acts like a scumbag and looks after himself first and foremost, but he does care about other people; at least he a level of responsibility for them when he messes up.
It's good to see that he isn't always right either. In fact he rarely is in the moral right, other ones tend to have protagonist centric morality in a major way. He's called Scumzuma for good reason by his teammates.

Definitely, but the entire crew is that way for the most part, which is half the reason why I love them so much. The dysfunctional nature and how much trouble they bring upon themselves is half the fun.
As much as people hate Aqua I think she's a lot like Kazuma, which makes their dynamic interesting. I'm glad that they don't have any romance between them since it makes their relationship kind of interesting. Very similar, but they end up hating each other yet they are inseparable for some reason. It's really nice to see a main girl who isn't a love interest to the MC for some reason.
Though I'm kind of surprised nobody has really brought this up in the story yet. Maybe if Aqua ever gets a focal volume we'll see something along those lines.

I think you'll like it, Gifting has a lot of appeal from the humor alone in my opinion. Also the characters have a lot of personality to them, so if that's your thing you'll probably dig it.
As for the translations, there are seven (soon to be eight) volumes released in Japan, along with a spin off series. So far only 4 are fully translated with volume 5 almost finished.
Translator uploads weekly and is really consistent for the most part (though there has been monthly gaps between volumes sometimes). Translations are definitely readable, with minor grammar errors here and there. If you're on mobile someone made PDF's and Epubs of every complete volume so far.
Check Skythewood if you're interest has been piqued. Though be aware that it is a parody of the genre.
