Depends on which school (a lot of schools are strict, but schools in Tokyo that aren't prestigious for example allow for people to customise their own uniforms (skirt length, hair accessories etc.)

Yeah I watched it, turned out to be quite shitty. Dialogue might have some bright moments, but the scenes were they talk are fucking bad. Also space combat does not work like playing battleship on a radar, neither does old fashioned war tactics when you deal with spaceships. Hope the new remake is better. /a/ got shit taste most of the time.

High quality people like LoGH fans do not care so much about presentation as about the content. You cannot deny that LoGH is the pinnacle of the space opera genre. Just because your monkey brain cannot understand the intricacies of an anime with plot it does not means it is not great. Someday you will grow up, read a book and you will then understand kiddo :^)

He's mostly right. LoGH is more about the plot as opposed to the animation. It's worth remembering that we're talking about a 110 episode OVA from the 90s with a HUUUUUUUUUGE voice acting budget. They simply couldn't afford to put the effort into making every conversation as visually interesting as Monogatari does.
I understand the complaint, but I implore you to reconsider it. If not, maybe the remake will fix that for you.
