>Shounen anime
>A genre of anime specifically advertised to teenage boys
>Teenage boys are both the target audience and its prime consumers
>A shitload of shounen is aired after midnight
You don't have to be an expert in advertising to see why this makes no sense. I want to know why the Nips keep doing it. If I'm not mistaken, attending high school is obligatory in Japan. This means that teens between 12 and 18 will be attending high school for most of the day and generally go to bed pretty early. Wouldn't the 4pm - 10pm time slot make the most sense? Japanese teens can get home from school, watch their favorite anime, do their homework when it's over and go to sleep (or vice versa). Or does the anime industry really rely on those dedicated die-hards that ruin their entire high school career (and consequently their future) just to watch their preferred cartoons?
