It just feels great and you become really focused for a few minutes, that's the best way I can describe it. At least before your body grows a tolerance for the nicotine, after that you won't feel much and I don't get why people continue to smoke after that point to be honest.
I still remember the first pack of cigarettes I bought and smoked while I was out traveling as a kid, every single cigarette in that pack just felt amazing. I've quit now though, I don't get that feeling anymore because of said tolerance.
