I used to think the same. Though very curious at first, the Godhand in that first scene felt somewhat underwhelming, maybe it felt too soon for them to appear just yet. But now that their characters are stablished, when I revisit that scene it does feels like a big deal, and it did serve various narrative objectives.

Was about to post this. Well played.
Despite questioning that other anon, actually I felt maybe there was a panel where he did see Corkus's corpse (or rather his head) displayed by its killer apostle. It's in the same page of the "boku no collection" apostle.
So maybe there could be something into what the previous anon said, but at the same time I have to completely agree with what has been said otherwise, it does feel quite out of character for Guts to use sex as a means to lure an apostle, given all that's happened to him as a character.

I am still of the opinion that Corkus was tsundere. Guts just never bothered trying to get the dere out of him. When he left the Band I really felt like Corkus' speech was more to himself than to Guts because he wanted to get used to the idea of not having him around.

I guess they feel raw in a conceptual aspect, we see them in a dimension taken directly by a painting that influenced Miura, and they themselves just seemd like a lump of influences projected together, from movies to 80's fantasy/sci-fi novels, before becoming their own thing that makes a lot of sense (at leastmost of them) in the Berserk universe.

I liked how he was one of the few people to really question Guts's logic when he wanted to leave the Hawks after they finally made something worthwhile out of it.
As another guy who tried to build something for himself only to lose out to Griffith, it was a good foil to how Guts romanticized the idea of leaving to follow his own dream.

I thought the ending song actually worked genuinely well, as far as being melancholy, but somehow really mellow.
