It was a fantastic comedic episode. Great skits, Iyami and Chibita make for surprisingly cute girls when transformed (and the latter even when not) and the reaction faces were superb.
There wasn't much development for the characters but it did show how they would react to certain interactions, like Karamatsu not being a pussy when dating Iyami or Ichimatsu being overly cautious (and cheap) with Chibita. That was nice but major developments usually spark more discussion.
I'm more interested in what people think about the episode to come. Serious? Comedic? A mix of both? How do you think the Matsuno's Christmas will go?

well, it's an post-mortem anniversary and they decided to resurrect an old series about sextuplet kids doing kids stuff.
The reboot is about 6 20-or-so NEET siblings doing sibling stuff. Which is mostly ganging up on each other. Has some gag skits, some SoL, some drama and some feels.

I dunno about what I think they'll be since osomatsu kun grows up doesn't make much sense considering osomatsu san's portrayals, but I can tell you what I think they SHOULD be based off of what they would be good at:

Kaamatsu: Stage musical actor

Ichimatsu: Cat Cafe owner(I'm actually at a loss for him...)

I know where you're coming from, I really do, since I've been a fan of the manga for many years now and when I saw the first episode I was seriously underwhelmed, it felt rushed and rather clunky. But an adaptation should always be regarded as its' own thing and soon I came to appreciate what they did with the original work: not only does Studio Bones just knows how to do action series right, it has some serious animation talent and heart put into the show. Sure, the pacing is a bit off and some of the page turn gags that work well in manga don't translate very well to the screen, but it is still one of the stand-out series of this year (despite not being an original work, mind you). My advice? Go at it with no expectations whatsoever but please don't avoid it. The shitposting on /a/ may be a little bit off-putting but that doesn't mean that the show sucks. Absolutely disagreed, he's been featured pretty prominently in various situations and has never showed the same face in any of them. He can be an asshole or a supportive older bro. In fact, just as I don't see how Oso's alleged lack of a special feature would make him less entertaining, I don't see how the other brothers' quirks would make them more.
