i think about 6 ovas were announced, haven't heard confirmation on season 2
If they were to make another 12 episodes, what would happen during them? Would there even be time to cover all of the MA/Garou arc, or would it just be the buildup?

There isn't enough material for season 2 yet. They're adapting Murata's version, not ONE's.
They will probably use up all the side story filler stuff Murata did for the OVAs.
