It's a solid show compared to the average anime, and yeah, the romance parts will become more pronounced. It was trolled to hell when it aired and thus a lot of /a/nons still repeat pretty baseless meme criticism, or they just have shit taste, whatever. Some are probably genuinely butthurt it wasn't the usual light-hearted moe show and instead went to a lot darker places.
