You get to know how animation studios' produce and run around like stupid shticks, begging other people desperately, while also seeing how the working conditions even for animators are so bad in Japan. Then u can watch seiyuus get the shorter end of the stick, but ravel at how they helped each other to create 12 episodes of anime every season. It was interesting to see an animation studio's take on how anime gets made. Obviously, if you take anything from anime as fact, then you're pretty dumb, but it introduced concepts of anime production that I never bothered to research on my own.

These threads are worse than thinly veiled rec threads.
I used to not care about scheduling and timing in anime. Since watching this show, I notice the little tricks studios use to extend or cut their episode duration.
An example would be OPM hero exam episode. The scene where Saitama says he got C-class to Genos, there were quite a few panning scenes that could be used to extend the showtime by seconds, and reduce the amount of animation needed in other scenes.
Maybe after watching Shirobako you would find a new appreciation in anime or enjoy it a lot more with greater knowledge of its production, even if its just a bit
