Araki got rid of all the gaudyness that plagued the series since part 3, and refined his art into this really detailed, yet still minimal style that looks amazing and is years ahead of any other mangaka.
Same goes for the plot too. He got rid of the bullshit while keeping the bizarre essence still intact.
Easily the best part. Yes, even better than 4.
I hope part 8 turns out to be as good.

When JoJo heads to Ogre Street, Dio steals the mask in case JoJo comes back alive.
Zeppeli's crew is never slaughtered, so JoJo's mentor would be Dire.
This mask does not recover wounds, so the key to the final battle is to remove it from Dio's face so that his wounds from the mansion can finally kill him.
Wang Chung removes Dio's head and gets away with the mask without anyone noticing. The mask that JoJo thinks he's destroyed is in fact a fake. Dio lives on as a big dumb cartoon head and still wants to take JoJo's body. Dio succeeds, but not before JoJo uses Wang Chung's body to sink the ship.

While he wasn't exactly Leonardo Da Vinci his anatomy was good even with all that QUALITY and those impossible poses up to Part IV. Iggy even looked like a dog in both designs. Starting from Part V his art started to worsen, in mid Part VII became better but then the sameface syndrome struck with everyone having the same model expression and the anatomy took a huge hit.

Overdone in this case is just another way to say iconic, it's a Joestar trademark.
If you're someone that is interested in getting tattoos, something less subtle and more creative would be more up your alley, but if you aren't and are just interested in getting one out of respect for the series or just by being a big fan I can understand how they would stick to something more simple and subtle.

Iwasuke also turns into stone and walks through walls. One of the chapter title pages calls him a rock dog too. Just look at its tail and tell me it's meant to look like any real dog breed.
