Why does /a/ never talk about the newish Yamato 2199 series?
Why do newfags come in, are surprised that an anime that's more than a year old isn't plastered all over the front page and refuse to lurk for long enough to see a thread pop up and then make a thread to complain about it?

Because it's "old" enough that pretty much all relevant discussion already happened, recent enough that most of us that want to watch it already watched and discussed it when it aired, and not hugely popular enough to have newfags watching it for the first time daily and making threads.
