I've been rewatching/listening to the OP for this show and its sequel a few times every day for the past week. I remembered it randomly, had to listen, and now it won't leave my head. Probably because I keep playing it.

I think this anime was special regardless. It had a completely different atmosphere and story telling style than most other anime. I still don't get what was up with the random art style change towards the end of the series, though.
Somehow I think I'm the only person on /a/ or one of the only ones here who knew it even when it was new, let alone almost 10 years after it aired.
