Daily dose of KKOW.
>>133896356
Sorry if this steals your thunder OP, but we have completed nearly all of Bakuon Rettou volume two!
>>133896495
>>133896497
No reason to be sorry, those updates are half the reason I make these threads anyway.
>>133896568
>They're charging up
This couldn't be anyone but San-chan.
>>133896356
From the thumbnail I genuinely though Mitsuhashi, Itou and Imai were wearing Test Cricket uniforms and I was trying to remember if there had been a Cricket chapter in KKOW which I had forgotten about. Never mind.
>>133897483
>>133897512
Is Cricket a thing in Japan?
>>133897675
Itou is so dumb sometimes, I do wish you got too see what it was like for him and Kyou, like Mitsuhashi and Riko.
>>133897649
>>133897675
I'm pine cone too dude
>>133897649
>i'm a pine cone
What the fuck Itou
>>133897756
>>133897746
You do, but it usually gets interrupted by someone picking a fight or Takasaki or some shit.
>>133897610
Based Japanese Cricket board bringing the bants to England after a shocking Test series.
https://twitter.com/cricketjapan/status/574907892786053121
Also I was surprised that not only is there a National Japanese Cricket team, but also a National Japanese Women's Cricket team. And unlike Hong-Kong and some others the team isn't full of Pakistani and Bangladeshis.
>>133897649
> Pretending to be a pine cone after he said pine cones are cute.
>>133897098
>I like mules
>Thanks
>>133898869
And that's all for today, we'll see how Mitsuhashi handles the average American tomorrow. Thanks for reading.
>>133898919
What's a mascot bat?
Thanks for making me read this again op.
>>133898919
Thanks doc.
I hope you all read the good news at the beginning! Don't despair, Bakuon Rettou will continue!
>>133898970
It's the bat the school mascat is supposed to have and it is probably made out of plastic.
>>133898509
Mules are pretty cute.
>>133899057
Many thanks, how long until chapter 12's done?
>>133899228
Chapter 12 is done, and so is chapter 13, they'll be uploaded soon. If there's any mistakes feel free to correct us! At some point I'll ask TL-Anon to go back and translate the notes on the covers.
>>133899308
I was worried when the first editor quit but you guys are awesome, I hope you and the TL can keep this up.
>>133899772
There's 3 of us. The new editor (Whose really good for his first time), TL and Me. I'm an organiser at best, though I try to proofread everything and make sure there's no mistakes.
So anyone else think Takashi is gonna dump his gf for a sukeban?
>>133899938
Ayy senpai thanks (editor here) I'm really enjoying doing this and it's nice to work with you and learn the ropes etc etc
>>133900538
okay i typed f a m not senpai
>>133900618
> Using senpai at all
Come on man, I get enough of that from folks that stumbled into /a/ thanks to DBZ threads.
>>133900858
it changes f.am to senpai (which I didn't know until now)
>>133900917
Somebody probably complained about it to Hiroyuki.
Oh well. I like this better anyhow.
>>133900998
same desu senpai baka
>>133901169
fuck
it changes t.bh to desu
f.am to senpai
s.mh to baka
>>133901227
It also used to change SJW to Spooky Scary Skeleton. I guess that one was only for Halloween though.
>>133901227
Maybe it's time to stop.
>>133897649
I don't get it.
>>133902778
Itou has a terrible sense of humor.
>>133903104
So a KKOW series without Mitsuhashi would just be Itou getting beaten up for his shitty jokes.
>>133903174
No it'd be Itou slowly becoming more violent as people called him out on his shitty sense of humor until he became as evil as Mitsuhashi.
>>133903493
More like Itou starts studying to see why people never laugh at his jokes and it becomes a manga about the science of comedy. With some fighting.
>>133903745
What would Imai do?
>>133904058
I dunno, I didn't think that far ahead yet.
>>133896356
Were these 3 chapters posted before the daily threads began or something? I feel like a read them really recently. Maybe I just jumped into it and couldn't stop one day I guess.
>>133904334
Yeah, I dumped like 5 chapters from around this point before I did them regularly.
>>133904664
We've known each other for a while OP, how time flies, before we know it Bakuon Rettou will be done and we will be finishing our daily read of Ocha Nigosu.
>>133904803
Is seeing the stars a phrase in Japan?
>>133905427
What do you mean? Like the "just conked on the noggin" type of stars?
>>133905559
Like whatever kind are in that picture.
>>133906090
Oh. Those are "Imai just managed to trick Mitsuhashi and he's still trying to process what just happened" stars.
>>133906144
Thanks chartfag, Hot Road was pretty good, scanlators putting their shitty watermark on stuff was annoying though. I should check out more shojo sukeban stuff. Also maybe you should make sukeban one of the categories in your chart.
>>133907566
I don't think I'll be using categories, it's not easy to easily define all these delinquent manga into categories, I mean sukeban is pretty clear, but that's like 3 or 4 of the chart at best. Everything else is kinda difficult, previous anon had suggested Yanki, Bosozoku, Punks and Yakuza but no one every pitched in on these categories or anything, they also overlap a lot so not sure what I'd do with that.
But anyways, yeah Hot Road was pretty tight, kinda depressing and heavy at times but good stuff nonetheless once you get used to its style.
>>133896946
It always gets me seeing Itou so happy simply because Story-Itou did his best.
>>133897298
Itou's face holy shit, he can't even believe how smooth Mtsuhashi was.
>>133907785
Instead of making them divisions of each series fitting into one how about you just add like a tag for all the ones that apply for each series?
>>133908681
Yeah that's what I'm talking about, tags not divisions, still.
>>133907785
> no one every pitched in on these categories or anything
It's a lot of internet legwork just to find something that's not already on the list and browse through it.
Also, I didn't even know you were considering categories let alone one for yakuza.
>>133909604
No I didn't mean legwork to pitch new series, I meant to pitch ideas for the categories/tags for these delinquent series, to discuss how to properly categorize them because I'm not sure. To use the example at hand, Yakuza, if it's full on Yakuza then it's not delinquent at that point so the idea for a manga to have the Yakuza tag would be for a delinquent series that simply has a lot of elements related to Yakuza, which there aren't many, Gokusen and QP are the only two that come to mind.
I was thinking maybe a tag for Classic Delinquent (old school), maybe call it Yanki? And a tag for contemporary delinquents, new school shit like Sugarless, A-bout! and Ocha Nigosu, maybe one for Sports as well, even tho there aren't many. But I'd rather not decide this on my own.
Sweet, new BR is up.
>>133909992
Ah, then Emblem Take 2 would be out then. Oh well.
Anyway, I think it'd be good idea just to call it "classic" or perhaps even use "Pre-2000" for some series. It'd be kind of weird to use "Yankii" just for older series when it's still a term used in newer manga too.
Tl Anon here... almost done V4. Gotta love the Bakuon Rettou art
>>133910593
Yeah I had seen Emblem Take before but reading the description figured it was too Yakuza for the list. I think "Old School" might work to fit the classic 80-90s delinquents. Maybe "Pre-Old School" or "Older School" for the even older ones.
Sukeban
Bosozoku
Yakuza
Older School
Old School
Contemporary
Thugs
Sports
But would there be a max tags per manga or what? Really can't think of a single manga with more than 2 anyways.
>>133910864
Are there any color chapters?
>>133899308
>feel free to correct us
The bottom of chapter 12 page 2, where the chapter title is, says chapter 11 instead of 12.
>>133910896
Yeah, it pretty much is. Still, the concept is interesting enough to where I hope more than just the OVA gets translated some day.
Also, what about using decades as categories starting from the oldest manga on the chart?
>>133910896
Maybe just "classic" instead of "older school". Or what >>133911170 said.
>>133911170
Not sure, dividing by decades doesn't exactly tell or give any ideas about what the manga is about, and that's the idea so that people can more or less guide themselves into something they will like.
>>133911074
Yea... quite a few
>>133899308
I did the one from V3. I'll probably go back later and do the V2+V1 ones if they're not done
>>133911074
Scratch what I said on >>133911327
I thought I read pages not chapters
>>133911298
I think it does offer at least a rough guideline of what to expect as far as fashion and art style are concerned.
>>133911606
But that's kinda shallow, I mean Rokudenashi Blues is Old school, nothing else to it, Bakuon Rettou is also old school but nothing like RokuBlues, Bakuon Rettou is Bosozoku and so is Hot Road but still, nothing alike, Hot Road being Sukeban and Romance.
>>133911812
>But that's kind of shallow
Well it's only one aspect, so it's going to be shallow by itself.
>>133911991
Well, hopefully more anons pitch in on this Tags discussion.
>>133911812
Generally speaking, charts tend to only give a shallow idea of what a series is about. If the creator puts any description of the series down at all.
Bakuon Rettou does kind of pose a problem because even though it was written in 2001, it's an 80s period piece. It probably wouldn't hurt to add a specific tag for it though.
>>133910494
You know, I never quite got the whole 'your face pisses me off' thing, but that Gokuraku guy with the bat finally made me understand. Man I want to see that smug fuck get his shit kicked in.
>>133898119
>Imai's enough!
>>133897408
Happy Riko a cute
>>133896356
This shit is funny.
What is KKOW abbreviation for? The artstyle feels familiar.
>>133913041
One striptease comment and it was all downhill from there.
>>133914085
Kyo Kara Ore Wa!! It's the name of the manga.
It's already on a few rec charts.
>Reading KKOW while listening to Rise of the Northstar
is there a comfier feeling?
>>133914443
It's getting pretty cold. You sure you don't want to get a blanket and a hot drink too?
>>133914483
No, the samurai spirit keeps me warm.
>>133901227
/pol/ was abusing niggerspeak in an attempt to be ironic. People got sick of it and probably mods too b/c it just sounded stupid and unfunny.
>>133914698
It was bad on /tv/ as well. I'm glad he did it.
>>133914576
Yamato damashii can only take you so far.
