That would likely be because Fairy Tail moves at a significantly faster pace than Bleach. For example, if this were a Bleach chapter, it would not be unusual for the part at the guild, and the part with Natsu attacking the army, to each be their own chapter.

Bleach is that slow paced. Out of 366 episodes, 165 are filler. Two of it's filler arcs had to be ungracefully placed in the middle of a canon arc. Not integrated with the story, just some narration to tell viewers that those arcs were from a different place and time. In general Kubo tends to favor large panels with not much going on in them. That tends to drag out everything. It reads well enough when marathoning the series, but if following the manga weekly, every fight takes weeks of nothing but that fight to resolve. That does not really improve the quality of the fights much.
