I think it's just because Japanese think just because a character is female they need to act/behave a certain way, meanwhile they should just write a well made character and only determine the gender last minute.

That is almost a criticism of the mediums they were released in. F/sn is a VN so they had to have different routes and let people self insert to be with the girls, whereas F/Z was an LN so they could skip the bullshit and focus on the story
