All the characters in KLK are cliches that are subverted. Sanagayama is the cool swordsman of the enemy party who is usually the leader/ace in any other anime but is hear a huge joke character who jobs against condoms and is utterly irrelevant next to the big guy and the enemy girl who are usually not the lead member of the enemy party.

It was unique and entertaining, which is lacking in most all animes. So it's good in my book
This is why EVA is so great, it is both intellectually engaging and had the best waifu wars all in one. The second anime to walk in its success is F/SN, but was only complex but not intellectually engaging, and the waifu war between Saber, Rin, and Sakura each ended up as forgotten, pleasing old man for money, and fish. Then all the anime inbetween and after either had a good story but no waifu wars so /a/ isn't stimulated enough to post anything on it. Had a great waifu war but no good story, stimulated to post but end up repeating the same thing as there was nothing else to write about it. Or mediocre at both which caused a lack of unifying opinion and the endless spam, troll, bait, flame war over the same thing every season.
