To be fair to Yugo, that isn't an indicator of anything since Yuto never had an upgrade for Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon, and I doubt Yuri has an upgrade for his dragon either. Yuya gets the upgrades because he is the protagonist.
I am sure if anything, Yugo would have high-Level Speedroid Synchros to compensate, such as perhaps a Level 10 or higher Speedroid Synchro.

I think he will get a Pendulum Fusion after being inspired by Sora/Serena (depending on whether Sora getting carded or Serena getting captured happens first), since it would probably have to be someone who is actually from the Fusion Dimension to awaken a Fusion evolution like that.
Though since Yuzu and Sora influenced Yuya to get Rune-Eyes and Beast-Eyes, perhaps Serena getting captured by Academia will unlock the Pendulum Fusion.
Unless Yuya will only get a Pendulum Fusion once he gets Yuri's Dragon which makes more sense, and won't get a Pendulum Synchro until after he gets Clear Wing.

Not even that Anon, but since when did liking Crow=being from NAC? When did /a/ start caring about NAC since it feels like its a recent thing? Or at least its more common now.
Anyway, Shun getting character development (which he should have had since the events of episodes 47-49) was needed and lets be completely honest here, as much as I hate Crow, Shun NEEDED to lose an on-screen duel since he was already a Gary Stu. Prior to losing to Crow, Shun's only loss was to Sora and wasn't fully on-screen so it doesn't count. Shun was basically the closest thing to Card Game Jesus there is in ARC-V and unlike Reiji, Shun is not the main rival and even then, Reiji offically lost his first on-screen duel to Yuya via a surrender (to compare, Kaito never explicitly surrendered to Yuma in their first duel, he just left when he was about to win).
Crow was in 5Ds, and by the looks of things ARC-V Crow won't be nearly as relevant as 5Ds Crow (with ARC-V Crow perhaps getting carded by Academia). I wanted Shun to win since having a 5Ds character be so involved in ARC-V is just absurd. One good thing about GX is that Yugi/Kaiba/Pegasus didn't get involved in the main plot and didn't last long.
However if Crow winning means Shun becomes more likeable and less of a writers pet, then I'm fine with Crow winning.

I hope she doesn't make an ARC-V cameo purely because I am sick of Konami's DM pandering both with the anime (Darkside of Dimensions movie) and the TCG/OCG by padding sets and packs with mostly shit retrains. The 5Ds pandering in Synchro Dimension arc only adds to my dislike.
The nostagia pandering Konami did of recent made me really dislike DM as a whole. In terms of being overrated and shilled beyond belief, DM is the YGO equivalent of the Gen I/Gen II Pokemon games and their anime adaptions.
Though IIRC, didn't that fat guy who used to interact with Carly cameo in the Synchro Dimension arc? The one who collected figures/DMG stuff? Maybe Dark Magician Girl cameoed there with him. The bigger problem is that like Pokemon X/Y, Arc-V feels like it doesn't stand on his own feet and is constantly overshadowed by his forerunners. Either by the Synchro Dimension, which is just a watered-down Fortune Cup Arc with a far worse pacing or by the revived Archetypes, from which only Red-Eyes seems to work without bricking heavily.
Adding Crow instead of any other 5D's character just made this even worse.

True, but it also implies that the only way Shun can lose an actual legitimate duel is if he loses to a character who isn't even from ARC-V. I would have been more satisfied if Shun lost to Yuya or Yugo, and Shun still could have got character development.
Again, I am glad the duel with Crow gave Shun development but I am sick of ARC-V making all the Lancers, except Reiji and Yuya, look like completely shit duelists compared to everyone from other dimensions. Serena will look like one after she gets BTFO by DICHROIC MIRROR and Shun already looks underwhelming considering that Crow didn't even need Action Cards to beat Shun whereas Shun used the only one and lost, making Shun look even weaker, especially since Crow would have won even easier if it wasn't an Action Duel.
The rest of the Lancers (Sawatari, Tsukikage, Reira, Gongenzaka) looked even weaker (except MAYBE Sawatari because how did against someone as strong as Yugo) since Tsukikage would have got BTFO badly by Shinji if Action Cards were not involved, Gongenzaka got wrecked by Crow, and Reira's only wins are against three kids who aren't even good at dueling.
TL;DR: Shun is currently stronger than either Sora (Shun got 3 new Xyzs and a bunch of RUMs... Sora has what to compete with that?) or Dennis (got BTFO twice and would have got OTK'd if it wasn't an Action Duel). Meaning that Crow defeating Shun only makes Academia look even weaker aside from Yuri (having just Leo and Yuri as Academia's only good duelists is shit writing).

Considering he needed a bunch of overpowered cards from Don Thousand just to stand his ground, no it doesn't. He needed those cards to beat two relatively shit duelists, especially in Rio's case. Vector beating Rio and Durbe would be literally the equivalent of Lucciano beating Rua and Ruka in a riding duel... whereby Rua's deck is hindered by riding duels (e.g. Equip Spells can't be used under Speed World) and Ruka is just a shit duelist who hasn't won a duel which didn't involve Rua at all.
Not to mention that the only reason Vector even won was because the writers wanted to kill of literally every character except Yuma, Shark and Kotori (fuck the lolicon Zexal writers for shoehorning her in everything).
I'd say that Aporia's beatdown of Jack, Rua and Ruka was FAR more impressive considering that literally the only reason he didn't win was plot. There was a point where he could have just OTK'd Jack by aiming all of his attacks at Jack, but instead attacked each of them once. They had to make Aporia huge misplays because otherwise Aporia would have killed Jack, and even with Life Stream Dragon, the twins would still get crushed by Asterisk, especially after Aporia got the thing up to 8300 ATK later on.

Well its not really a fair comparison considering that not only is Shun the writers pet (a writers pet CAN lose, as Johan and Crow already proved), and not only has Sora not dueled for over 30 episodes, but Shun has received so much new support such as:

Everyone except Eita, who is an asshole and another example of a good descision arc v made to eradicate any link to him.
