Am I the only one who was disappointed by this anime? I really wanted to enjoy it, but some things just don't work out. The characters are likeable enough and the setting is pretty decent, but the pacing is way off. It feels horribly rushed (not to mention the QUALITY). I also feel that the harem elements were detrimental to the story which is inherrently, as far as I can tell at least, about Tigre and Elen.
What do you guys think? Are the manga/LN any better?Will the French reconquer Alsace?

I didn't watch it as it aired but I kind of agree it was a chore to get through, even though I enjoyed some moments.
How do you make a series about cute female knights and dragons boring? Is there anything like it out there that is better executed?

I enjoyed the novels quite a lot up until the arc where he is sent to that northern island for whatever reasons but i finally stopped reading when helost his memories and went with that other vanadis

The anime wasn't bad, but the LN is much better. They left out a lot of characterization and butchered all the battles because cramming 5 volumes into one cour has never and will never work.

They go through a lot of content in 12 episodes. A lot. Of course the pacing is rushed.
If it wasn't rushed, the Ludmira battle might have been the last battle, since that happens Volume 3.
Rokka no yuusha proved that 1 volume of an anime can be adapted well in 12 episodes. Madan tried to basically adapt 5 volumes. They blazed through the content.
The manga moves at a more deliberate pace, and Tigre isn't as emotionally stoic. The LN is pretty fantastic in my opinion. I loved reading it. Couldn't stop till I got to caught up.
I liked it a lot. OP was great. Fan service a little annoying, but whatever/ It got me to the LN. I've read all that's been translated and it is far better.

Sorry but they should have went with 2 volumes since the pacing was slow as fuck and it pissed a lot of people off that they spent 80% of the time in a cave.
12 episodes is enough for 2 typical short LN volumes but 1 is just stretching it .
