Re-reading volume 1, I just realized it's 99.9999 repeating % likely Gazef relied on the ring to reach heroic tier.
This is because when Gazef thanks Ainz and asks about the SLS, Ainz takes notice of the ring Gazef has on his left ring finger thinking Gazef was married. However in volume 5-6 we learn that is clearly not the case having Brain visited his home. Furthermore, not only do we get more information about the ring through Climb, and how it relates to Rigrit and PDL, but later on Ainz comments about how he had been instructed in the past that the left ring finger somehow is connected to the body more and would be used during medicine practices which comes full circle on why Gazef would wear it on that finger slot.
And so there you have it, Gazef did indeed have his dragon ring during volume 1. Overlord is like Ravages, so many tidbits that you just gotta read it over and over just to find them all.
This means the level up ring has been planned since the very beginning and possibly play an integral part in the future having been given focus in volumes 1, 6, 7, and I believe 8. That's 4/9 volumes!

Volume 6 says it's a temporary boost, refer to Climb using it.
The point has always been that Gazef had one foot in the door to heroic tier, so that means he was most likely level 29 making the ring allow him to hit that benchmark.
As for whether or not it would allow a level 100 to surpass it's limit, I'm sure it is possible. To begin with, World Class enemies can go over level 100.
Also, everyone seems to think wild magic has to be different from Yggdrasil magic. But the way I see it, it could simply just be a form of Super Magic haven't mutated/evolved over the years, since souls are essentially exp according to WN vol 9 allowing Ainz to reap the souls given to form the Dark Young with Greed and Avarice in order to fuel his Super Rank magic Wish Upon a Star.
One of the 3 great relics of ST belonged to a Dragon Lord/King that was like an ancestor of Dragons or something (volume 1 isn't worded the same way as the rest remember), so it's possible that that Dragon was actually either a heteromorphic player, or an actual boss that got transported.
Also remember if we go along the same pattern the ring has done so far, then all this talk about cross breeding for Nazarick can also imply that the very first Dragon Lord was indeed a player, and D&D Dragons can breed with anything so that could be how he passed down his Super Magic. In fact, it's arguable that depending on what choices constitute Wish Upon a Star, Wild Magic might just be that one move and generations of Dragon Lords honed their inherited ability in order to maximize their chances of selecting the one they want. It also makes sense that the Queen needs so many souls to pull off PDL's super attack that he himself can do by himself, since PDL would have vastly higher levels than the Queen and thereby have more exp/souls within him.

That said I'm still unsure whether or not the hands heating up -> body heating up is a result of the ring or simply martial arts, though I am leaning in favor of the latter due to Climb not having experienced it.
Then again, assuming my theory that Gazef is level 29, that heat may only occur when you reach a specific benchmark like level 30 aka heroic tier kinda like you know SSJ would give you gold hair and everything before wouldn't no matter how much gains you get.
At the same time, Gazef simply knows so many martial arts and has a vastly more powerful body that any one of them could be the heat hands -> heat body thing since Climb only knows less than a handful. No surprise that he can't get the same effects out of it.

Also adding to this, assuming the translation konjac is indeed Ouroboros like I suspect it is, then this would explain why the assumed original Dragon Lord spent it in such a way. Because as a Dragonkin, he would want to talk to humans as a former human yet due to his body and the humans in the NW using another language there was simply no way of him doing so without spending vast amounts of time which he may or may not have had from his perspective.
So he would decide to burn the WCI to allow him to communicate perfectly, introducing auto-translate as a function which clearly belongs to Yggdrasil the game because as we all know it doesn't translate text, nor do you actually know what the other person is pronouncing in their own language. It's like dubs instead of subs, so even the audio is changed for you right? What are the odds of that being a NW thing instead of a Yggdrasil thing?
Naturally over the countless generations the Dragon Lords would assume that their magic is special cause it's hot shit being Super Rank, but since it keeps using EXP it weakens and the Dragon Lords might not all realize that.
And if we combine that with thinking in the logic of mass conservation law, it means there's only a finite amount of EXP/aka Soul power in the NW. Naturally with guys like 6 gods, 8GK, etc coming in, the pool gets smaller and smaller so the long lived Dragon Lords would notice this the most, since they don't seem to go farming innocents just to get stronger.

I believe it is definitely a martial art, assuming that the raw JP used [Slash] and not just Slash. The [] is the important part because it usually denotes it as a skill under Yggdrasil system.
It's basically like the rank 1 martial art so to speak for swordsman. Is what I believe.
As for my theory on Touch Me, it's simply because this way the Dragon Lords have a reason tied to Yggdrasil on why they are friendly with humans, whereas otherwise it's unexplained. PDL also helped the 13 heroes, which are the closest group that would resemble AOG in the sense that it's a mixing pot of races, so his ancestor may have taught him to judge without bias among races.
And well, the other point of this theory is how Ainz will deal with the fact that his comrades children would be at odds with Touch Me's new children/descendants (could be children for all I know dragons live long). This would be a twist in the sense that Ainz and the novel keep building up on wanting to meet another AOG member, but what if you meet their kids? A guy like Ainz who loves the NPCs so much, how would he deal with a situation where he finds out PDL is TM's son? How would the NPCs handle it?

Its true that the warrior class probably grants her free proficiency in heavy armor, but that doesnt discount that a thing called armored mage exists, not as a feat but as an entire class.
There are possibly other caster classes that allowed Momonga to equip leather, hell for all we know the Base Necromancer class has proficiency in leather armor, this is all speculation.
Still, the logical leap of "This guy won because he was classed OP, while completely naked in a world tourney" is much broader than "This guy won because he was geared and classed with OP shit".

For the NW, Nazarick is essentially unconquerable, and with it Ainz can rez his minions at no level penalty as long as he has cash. The minions who are low level enough that new worlders might actually kill them are cheaper to rez than Chair was thanks to the level difference, so that balances out funds-wise, since the NW can't really kill the guardians.
Basically, there's only 3 ways he can lose.
1. Somewhere in the NW is a WCI that can destroy Nazarick. Like the stick, or something that would make the earth swallow it, or bury it under a sea of acid. Something like that. Of course, even if Nazarick were gone, the npcs would remain to extract vengeance. They'd probably take over the greed kings base as a repalcement too.
2. Destruction of the guild staff. This would destroy Nazarick and the NPCs. But Ainz isn't an idiot, so he hid it on the strongest floor of Nazarick. Even if a New Worlder somehow got one of his rings and teleported there, they'd still get their shit pushed in. Basically, the only way this can happen is treachary, which is extremely unlikely, except perhaps for Rubedo, given Nigredo's warning about her.
3. The NW didn't used to have yggdrasil systems. It's kind of implied that the six gods used that one WCI to overwrite the NW systems (wild magic and all that) with yggdrasil's. If that item is still around, it could possibly be reversed, which would fuck over Nazarick badly.

It's kinda like how the Death Knight described in vol 1 matches the BD special Death Knight illustration, but So-Bin has also drawn the anime version of the Death Knight as well.
But then again, there's plenty of consistency errors with the illustrations comparing itself with the text, like how Entoma had her mask on when she revealed her huge appendages to Blue Rose when nothing in the novel describes Entoma picking up her mask that probably died from the insecticide.
