>In the field of video imaging—television, for example—the current standard under Japanese broadcasting standards [for the color temperature of your monitor] is 9300 K. This is significantly above the 6500 K standard for PC environments.

You now realize that unless you have set your monitor to "Cold", "Blue" or "9300K", you are watching anime incorrectly and not as intended. The colors of hair, skin, eyes and so on will all be false.

Thank me later, /a/.
>>
I always use my monitor in "Cold" color config, I like the blueish tone.
Thanks anyway OP.
>>
My setting is "Normal" whatever that means.
Cool setting looks shit.
>>
Just tried "cool". It looks like shit.
>>
Welp try it with euphonium, and it looks more great tbh.

no IPS, huh? poorfag

your eyes/brain need some time to adapt.

Most of the time when people tell you these things they're trying to troll you.

Don't forget to replace your mp3's yearly to prevent rotational velocidensity!

What the fuck, why am I on warm?

You may be on to something, OP

I was on standard, but both warm and cool look like shit.

I'll keep cool on one monitor for a while though, so maybe my eyes will get used to it and things will look better.

I don't even know if I can change that.

literally unusable because of the system requirements to produce an improvement in image quality that is actually noticeable.

if you meet the requirements, enjoy the 50 db fan speed and always running your graphics card on full load while wearing headphones to watch anime.
>>
>>124160507
im on a laptop with integrated intel graphics and i can change it.
>>
>>124156388
>you are watching anime incorrectly and not as intended.

That may be so, but changing it now would be even more foolish. Making the change at this point would make everything look wrong to me, technically correct or otherwise.

Still, interesting piece of info. I wonder how many people in this thread will change their settings to feel like more genuine nihongo anime viewers.
>>
>>124160557
Really? How? I have an Intel chipset but I can't find any setting for it, only color balance.

>>
>>124160614
Right click on the desktop and it it should have an option saying "Graphic Properties" or "Graphic Options"
>>
>>124160608
Makes you wonder what kind of stupid shit you could get away with around here to make people feel more "in touch with their nipponese cartoon culture".
>>
>>124160521

How did you get XySubFilter to load properly without it ?
>>
>>124160780
yeah lmao, stupid shit like correct subtitles instead of memes and localizations for americans.

yeah, people will eat everything just to make them feel "in touch with their nipponeese cartoon culture".
>>
>>124160849
untick "auto load files" and "use built in subtitle renderer" in mpc-hc. use ffdshow to upscale with spline or lanczos instead of using evr-cp to upscale.
>>
>>124160849
EVR-CP supports it just fine.
>>
I never really changed anything besides night mode and movie mode or something. What in the world is ASCR?
>>
>>124161014
hello asus friend. ASCR is a contrast boost feature, basically a marketing scam. go to the color settings and set color temp to "cool", and skin tone to natural. turn off vivid pixel and set sharpness to 20 or 30. use night mode.
>>
>>124160699
Yeah but Graphics properties just brings up the intel control panel that only has color balance sliders not a temperature setting. What Intel chipset do you have? I have the HD 3000.
>>
>>124160924

I know how to re-enable the internal subtitles, Xy's are better

>>124160987

Doesn't load it for me even when I add it to external filters
>>
>>124160682
What kind of dialogue is that? Some software or some proprietary thing from your PC?
>>
>>124161113
I don't have Vivid Pixel or at least I can't find it. I did changed to cool and I'm not sure if I like it that much. I kind of prefer the bright, more colorful setting of warm. Maybe I just have to get used to it.
>>
>>124161152
this happened to me once, try a different version of xyfilter or try the beta version
>>
I always wondered this. I like cold setting the best, but would I be ruining my anime experience by using cold or warm instead of regular?
>>
can we get a daiz opinion on this? like, someone who is very good at pretending he knows stuff like this, and will talk down on us like we are incompetent swine?
>>
>>124156388
Nice, I kinda like this. It looks like shit when not browsing anime though.
>>
Dark but not pitch black room at 6500k is ideal. You can't make me change.

>>
>>124156388
Is there any way to set it up so the screen auto-changes to 9300K while using mpc?
>>
>>124161658
The "normal" setting on the left one looks like the "cool" setting on the right one
>>
>>124161365

I am using the beta of XySubfilter, is their a setting I'm unaware of I should change ?
>>
I did not know this. Thanks a lot. I can actually set my monitor to that temp thankfully.

Another tip is to set your gamma to 2.2 and use TV black levels.
>>
>>124156388
I use f.lux to change the color temperatur at night to sit at a confortable 3530K at night and 4695K during the day.
I like my stuff warm, but thanks for the info.
>>
>>124161783
>use TV black levels.

Bad advice - black is supposed to be black, so 16-235 input should be properly expanded to 0-255 if watched on such a screen.
>>
I think I prefer my custom settings to be honest. I feel like I lose color with cool.
>>
>>124161899
>not watching your cinema the way it supposed to be viewed
Pleb
>>
>>124161298
flux
>>
>>124161658
I'd return the right one.
>>
>>124161908
That depends on your monitor and graphics card configuration largely. Adjusting for the black levels isn't needed very often anymore but it used to be a big problem with older renderers that couldn't detect black level automatically.
>>
>>124162001
I set the red levels down and contrast a little lower and it looks much more like the left now
>>
>>124161938
Sorry, I don't want to mess with my circadian rhythms too much and make my eyes withstand too much blue light.
Once you get used your eyes make the correction to see normal colors anyway.

I watch it on a TV

>>
>>124162149
In my experience, I start seeing the orange tint when I'm using my computer in any dark space, even when f.lux is off.

At this point it's way too comfy to care about color quality.
>>
I have no idea about what is better between warm, cold and normal.

>On the other hand, the U.S. broadcasting standard (NTSC) calls for a color temperature standard of 6500 K. The international standard for digital high-definition television (ITU-R BT.709) also specifies a color temperature of 6500 K
>The international standard for digital high-definition television (ITU-R BT.709) also specifies a color temperature of 6500 K

Considering that Japanese HDTV broadcasts are in BT.709, 6500 K should technically be the intended color temperature.

Plus I bet it's all mastered on 6500 K monitors in the first place.

i work in dermatology in the hospital, and we have a $50,000 eizo radiforce monitor there.

at one point when noone will be looking i plan to sneak an usb stick with that huge ass 4k anime encode that was on nyaa once in there. then i will be the single most person on this earth who has watched anime at the highest quality and cum with the force of a thousand daizes on the monitor, and every cumstain will glow from being illuminated by the back light, their shades covering the walls of the white room, and i will finally have reached gensokyo.
