Thoughts on Kino's Journey?
I'm halfway through this right now and I'm loving it. Definitely going in my top 10 favorite animes.

How many volumes are covered by the anime? I have B-T epubs of volumes 2 to 9 but haven't started because volume 1 only exists as an evil non-OCRed PDF full of JPG scans of pages
Kino wasn't even a playable character in Dengeki Fighting Climax, and she was voiced by Aya Hisakawa for some reason. I don't think the publishers give a shit about Kino anymore.

Same here when I was new to watching anime. Then I realized Kino was kind of shallow and repetitive in its execution of its allegorical tales. Still like it very much, but it wouldn't crack my top 30 now.

I'd say it's because those moments in Kino a portrayed a lot more realistically.
All it would of taken is one small misstep and Kino would have been killed. I like that the little mental breakdown she has at that the end of that scene too.

Not OP, but I didn't watch Kino no Tabi until I'd already seen hundreds of shows and I still loved it. It wasn't the stories so much as the atmosphere. It's an extremely watchable and rewatchable show. Like, if it came on TV I'd probably end up watching it every time even if I'd seen the episode a hundred times, like with Cowboy Bebop.
