TLR Darkness has had more actual plot then the original TLR ever did, and obviously the PLOT is better as well. Personally, although enjoyable, the actual fanservice in DXD is pretty shit. TLR Darkness is extremely fap worthy, I have masturbated to it quite a bit, but DXD is just shitty generic non arousing fanservice 99% of the time.
Obviously Yabuki's art is a big factor, but even the Darkness series and OVAs do a great job being better then DXD.
